The Itsy Bitsy Spider...
After running into several of these with webs stretched across the boardwalk, I finally opted to just turn back. ;)

I would have done the same thing. I'll leave you alone, but you need to leave me alone too.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

Wow that is a big scary spider! I hate spiders and I would turn around too!

Elephant's Child said...

I find them intriguing beasts - but don't like their webs in my face.

debdenny said...

Oh I would have turned around also. Not big on spiders, especially when there are more than one.

Heather Lawrence said...

Ack!! I would have to Ned into a ninja trying to get the webs off of me. What kind of spider is that? We don't have any that look like that here!

Pat Hatt said...

haha scared of the poor itsy bitsy spider? geez.

Ever since I read Charlotte's Web I've had a soft spot for spiders. I don't like them on me much, but if I come across one in the way, I'll find a way to move it versus just killing it. lol Although, that's a super big one...and if there was more than one...eek...it's a little bit scary! lol

Michelle de Guzman said...

That spider is neither itsy or bitsy. I would go full nija on it if I saw it at my house. YIKES!

Heather @ Girl Gone Mom said...

Ooh I have never seen one quite like that and we get a lot of spiders around here!

Jeannette said...

That sends shivers down my spine! I would have turned around too!

Masshole Mommy said...

I would have turned around and RAN screaming after seeing just one of those. You are braver than I.

Creepy! These are Banana Spiders, we get them in our backyard all the time! They give a nasty sting if they bite!

If I saw that near me, fire would be involved. EEEKKK!

I would find a stick!

Maybe they're preparing for lovebug season?

Joely Smith said...

I would have screamed a scream that would be fit for the best of horror movies and ran! On the other hand I never kill a living thing and believe that they have a great purpose on our earth.

Erin Shebish said...

Nope. Nope nope nope. I don't like spiders. Nope. I wouldn't have even taken the picture.

Binky said...

AHH!!! I am so terrifed of spiders!!! Gets a show and kill it!!

Elizabeth O. said...

Spiders are so beautiful. They are amazing as well. They terrify me and fascinate me at the same time.

Liz Mays said...

The worst is when you don't see them and actually walk through the web! Yikes! I just saw a different kind running across the wall in the bathroom this morning. I'm not happy about that!

RANE said...

Wow .. is it actually that Big or is it the Camera? Either way that's one scary looking guy. I'm not scared of them .. as long as they are not poisonous

Claudette P. Esterine said...

Not a big fan of spiders either - don't hate them but the love isn;t great. :(

Mykidsguide said...

What a great capture. Spiders freak me out, but I think I could carry taking a photo of it.

Theresa Mahoney said...

I'd be turning around at the first sight of one lol. It's freaky!

Michelle Martinka said...

Yikes! We have 2 biggies outside of our house! I kind of love them!

Kimberly said...

Ugh...can't stand them. They've been spinning their webs in the bushes behind my house. There's something about Fall that brings them out and about. I just want them to go away ;)

Rebekah Hamblen said...

Yikes that's a serious spider right there, one I wouldn't want to be messing with either!

Liz Mays said...

OH heck no! Run, and run as fast as you can!

Mom Knows Best said...

I would scream and run at seeing this one. I hate spiders.

Annemarie LeBlanc said...

I am not scared of spiders, it just startles me when I see it. I am more scared of lizards and their cousins (frogs, salamanders, toads, etc.). I scream bloody murder at the sight of them!

Deal Match Maker said...

I love animals but hate SPIDER and BUGS :(((( please stay away from my house .. We found at least 10 baby spiders today :(

Hilary Melton-Butcher said...

Hi Rosey - they are prevalent at the moment aren't they. I was walking back last night from the cinema and three workers were outside their shop (after 10pm) and wouldn't go back in .. because something was troubling them. It was a spider! I sorted it out for them ... I've no idea what they were going to do ... could have been there all night?! Cheers Hilary

Victoria Heckstall said...

I hate spiders because I am scared to the spiders. i would run so past when i see it.

mail4rosey said...

or jitterbug season, hehehe :) This was on an isolated mangrove boardwalk. I don't think anyone's been on it in a very long time. ;)

Veronica Lee said...

Spiders give me the heebie jeebies! Awesome capture, btw!

Jenn @ EngineerMommy said...

Wow that is a big spider! My girls would flip out if they saw that! :)

Annemarie LeBlanc said...

I think spiders were meant to exist to get rid of other more harmful bugs. It just startles me when I see them crawling. Other than that, I just leave them alone to do their job.

Manzanita said...

Not a Brown Recluse but I'd hate to bump into it, just the same. You soften it with the phrase, Itsy Bitsy Spider. :)

Lisa said...

Great picture! However, I hate spiders. LOL

Dogvills said...

That's a biggie. I am not a fan of spiders, but my nephew is. He would actually look for them and take lots and lots of photos.

Launna said...

I would have turned back too if I saw a spider like that... I have not gone out on my back deck as there are quite a few... once the Fall really sets in I will be able to go out there again... I hope... Have a really great day Rosey xox

amotherworld said...

Yikes! I've never seen one that big other than in a glass box at the zoo!

Holy Ghost Writer said...

Couldn't just walk around them?

Rachel Mouton said...

Oh my goodness! We actually have beautiful spiders down here in south Louisiana. There's one called a banana spider and it is huge, but beautiful :)

mail4rosey said...

One long isolated metal boardwalk (mangrove walk). I knew if they were stretching all the way across like that so far in, it was likely going to get worse as I went. I turned back, happily. ;)

alissa apel said...

I like its legs. How cool. I had gigantic spiders in Savannah, GA (in my apartment) when I lived there. I was so afraid only because I didn't have health insurance for a small window of time. YIKES!

Six Time Mommy TEST said...

Spiders don't bug me as much as snakes and mice. But my older brother? flips when he sees a spider. That one is HUGE. - jeanine

I just got shivers!!! This is NOT a picture that a person with arachnophobia wants to look at first thing in the morning!!!

Kristie said...

That looks like a big spider! And it has some crazy hairy legs! lol!

Kam Kay said...

I do NOT like to get this close to spiders. Good thing you turned back! :)

Lynndee said...

I actually laughed after reading the title. You know why? I always sing the song, 'itsy bitsy spider' to my husband before going to bed for fun. LOL.

Chubskulit Rose said...

You sound like my husband. He is not fnd of spiders at all.

Shaylee Anne said...

That is both terrifying and beautiful. I hope this picture was taken through a window haha

Kristi Maloney said...

I wouldn't want to tangle with that spider either. That's a creepy photo of him (has to be male) just hanging there. lol

Onica MommyFactor said...

Oddly I like spiders. I think they;re amazing creatures and so pretty. Just not up close. LOL

MsCrookedHalo said...

I was just thinking that it was spider season. I've 4 giant spiders already. Thank goodness that they were outdoors.

Our front porch and awning is literally turning into arachnophobia. I found a spider web stretching like 2 feet from our car to our lamp post!

HilLesha O'Nan said...

Beautiful picture, but I still hate spiders, nonetheless! I almost lost my right hand because of one. :(

Carin Kilby Clark said...

I'm so not a spider fan. I just go the other direction whenever I see one.

For certain I would have undoubtedly done the same!

LOL I posted a pic of a spider on Instagram the other day and the consensus is it's time to burn down my house and start over.

Eek, hello Halloween horrors. That's one scary spider

Adrienne said...

Haha, good call! Running into webs while running is always so awful. lol I would have turned back, too.

I am not afraid of spiders, but I'm not full enough to play with them either. A couple of weeks ago, my sister and I were walking and kept running into the spiderwebs
