Balancing Your Summer Footwear

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Designers have made it easier for you to find footwear that is both stylish and supportive. It's up to you to assess the summer activities that you and your family engage in and to have the appropriate selections in your shoe collection.

Family Fun

Many families enjoy outdoor activities together during the warm months of the year. Those activities might include daily walks, hiking or bike riding as a family. For these adventures, it's important that everyone have shoes that offer protection and support.

Flip flops are popular in the summer. While they are not appropriate for the previously mentioned activities, they can be a part of your summer footwear collection. Experts advise against wearing flip flops on a frequent basis due to their lack of support and the absence of protection they provide for your foot. However, they can be a fun summer time accessory when you're at the pool, the beach or at a patio party.

Exercise

It's helpful to have a resource such as SneakerKing.com to rely on for finding footwear that is appropriate for the type of exercise routine you follow any time of the year. Before selecting a shoe, take time to read the full description of the features it has. Arch support and heel support features should coincide with your personal need. Exterior material and interior lining, insole and midsole support and the specific design of the shoe are features to consider when selecting an exercise shoe.

Casual footwear

Casual wear and summer time go hand in hand. Clothing and wardrobe accessories tend to feature bright, exciting colors. Your footwear can be as stylish and colorful as you want it to be. Sneakers for men, women and children are available in a variety of colors. These are perfect for those leisurely summer weekends. If sneakers aren't your style, sandals might be your choice. There's certainly no shortage of sandal styles for men, women and children. Just be sure you reserve your sandals for indoor wear and for shopping or dining out activities rather than for outdoor adventures.

With the extensive selection of summer footwear that is available, you can easily find shoes that are safe and supportive for exercise and outdoor adventures as well as sandals and sneakers for fun, casual summertime events. Be sure to balance out your shoe collection so that you have shoes that match your activity.

  1. My oldest just had to get a pair of nice running sneakers for his karate training. He's in the last 3 months of training before he gets his black belt, so he has to run timed miles all the time now.

  6. In the summer I tend to wear sandals--very supportive sandals actually with adjustable straps in case my feet or ankles swell!! I never wear flip flops--in the colder weather I wear sneakers or occasionally boots. I will check out this site to see if they sell what I can wear--I have terrible feet!!

  19. Usually I live in flip flops or sandals during the summer, but a good shoe with a lot of support is a must too. We do a lot of travel to places where we have to walk a lot, like Chicago, and good support is a must in a shoe!
