The bird is cute Rosey, what a great picture xox ... I would like to see more of them here... it has been too cold but I heard it is supposed to warm up a bit... we just need to rid of the ice here... very soon I hope...
My grandfather used to insist that at least one 'snag' be left standing, simply because so many creatures use them as shelter and food sources. He was a bit ahead of his time.
Wow and for some reason all I could think of was Woody Woodpecker cartoon from when I was a kid ;)
Hi Rosey - what a delight to see .. we sometimes get the green ones here and I love seeing them. Woodpeckers are extraordinary ... and exactly the right thing to do with dead wood .. but it looks cold, oh so cold! cheers Hilary
always great to have a friend along for the ride....pretty woodpeckers...
Adorable! I wonder if it attracts or deters the real thing. Country art can be so cute!
Well that's really neat!
Good capture Rosey :-)Have a tanfastic week ;-)
We've become more and more entranced with birdwatching - well shot! Thanks for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2015/03/flying-high.html
Wow amazing capture! I am starting to get into bird photography but its just so hard to capture them.
Must have been on telegraph hill.
What a beautiful bird! I love being able to find pretty pictures to take!
haha I guess someone wanted them to knock on wood
Definitely good use of a "dead" tree. My family had a country house made entirely out of wood (probably untreated since it was so old) and I remember similar birds "eating the house" as we would say. LOLVery nice shot!!
They're fake? That is funny!
Yep, fakes. I didn't realize how realistic looking they were until I started reading the comments. ;)
Very clever indeed. I love it. Not long ago we heard woodpeckers in the trees at the marina. It was ever so delightful.Have a terrific Wordless Wednesday. ☺
Funny picture. Someone has a sense of humor:)
What a cute picture. I've always love wood peckers. They just strike me as so comical.
What fun. Love it.
What a pretty picture. I think wood peckers are hilarious. I mean, if you watch them, they just ram their heads against trees all day!
I get a kick out of the comments that assume these are real birds....lol (Read the post people!) Have a great day Rosey!
Love it! Such an awesome picture!
What a great use of a dead tree!! I hope they attract real birds as well!
What a great idea for using a dead tree that is normally an eye sore!
Are they fake? That is a really pretty picture either way!
They look like they are having fun up there. It's a birdie party.
We see real ones all over the place. Poor little robin redbreasts were hopping across snow last week. This week it's in the upper 50s.
I had no idea they were wooden when I first looked at them. Looks beautiful regardless.
At first I thought those were real birds. I have a dead tree in my yard and get woodpeckers on it.
How funny! When I first glanced at the picture, I thought those were real woodpeckers.
They sure look real there for a second
What a great picture. I totally thought that was real :)
I totally didn't get it at first. I had to enlarge the photo and see that the birds were wooden as well. Love the "wood"peckers!
This photo has the best touch of gloom to it. So super cool!
Michigan winters are gloomy. Perk: When the time the sun finally rolls around for warmer weather, we're so so so grateful to see it. :)
Ha! I'm so glad someone had a sense of humor. I'm sure those bring a smile to a lot of faces.
Great shot Rosey - better that pole than a house!
You got that right. We had a real one at our place for awhile and that was no fun at all.
That is such a cool picture!
Could have fooled me! I thought they were real!
We had a huge pileated woodpecker on our tree once that was big enough to rival a duck. When I first looked at the picture, I thought it was real. Dang, I am a geezer.
I've never seen one that big! It must have been a cool sight!
Oh my goodness this is hilarious! Love it so much.
Great photo! Huge new bird lover here. Thay is super cool, I've never seen one before myself!
What a treat to see that. Even better, you captured it beautifully!
Aww, how creative, that looks great.
What a nice surprise! I just heard woodpeckers outside my house this morning
We have one close by that I hear every summer. Ahhhh Summer! Cannot wait, but at least Spring is just around the corner. Woo Hoo! Ahhhhh Spring. Cannot wait! Thanks for sharing.
We heard one outside at our house a few times recently... but it was far enough away that we couldn't really see it.
So Cool. That is a great shot.
That is a really good shot. I love the colors of the birds.
Birds of a feather....woodpeck together. :)Great photo. Its a good sing that spring is on its way!
I bet that was an awesome site in real life! Love this picture!
I was thinking that is one HUGE bird LOL, they got me! Happy Wordless Wednesday! ;-)Tracy @ Ascending Butterfly
I thought those birds were real! That is so cool.
Wow Rosey, that shot is amazing with the birds on the dead tree! I guess they are wood beckers? Hope you have a nice Friday and weekend.Julie xo
yeah! a wood pecker!!These birds are so rare, that when clicked they tend to become the heroes of the day :)Loved the shot, Rosey!Always a pleasure to have you on board!
After I read the caption, I had to look at the picture again cuz at first glance I thought the birds were real. Great capture!
Ha! I didn't realize until I read the caption they weren't real. Very cool!~Amanda
Beautiful picture. We are starting to hear the woodpeckers around her too. I can't wait for spring.
I love to bird watch in my yard. It is one of my all time favorite things to do!
I love Woodpeckers, when we lived on the farm we had so many of them, I am down in Florida, have not seen any.
