Chan Luu Scarf Infographic

This is in an old bookstore in Prague. We love old bookstores!
And this look...well, that's my scarf-tying prowess in a nutshell (stop laughing).

See my son's scarf in this picture? Yeah...that's the extent of my scarf-arrangement prowess. Although it is practical and warm, I know for a fact that 'it ain't pretty,' or so the saying goes. :)

The picture was taken in an old bookstore in Prague. Oh how I love to peruse the old bookstores (and thankfully my husband does too). We would brave chilly weather any day to get our book fix in. One thing about Prague though, or any city in Europe we've been to, the people really know how to get their scarf on. I'm talking men, women, and children. Everywhere you go, the Europeans just really know how to arrange their scarves into practical, attractive, very elegant styles!

In a restaurant, while some people are gazing out of the windows at the sites, I'm gawking at the man or woman effortlessly tying their scarf into place before heading back out into the chill. Ha! I'm so not kidding. I envy the ease with which they do it too. It would take me 99 takes in front of a mirror to get even close to some of the styles they do, and even then I probably still wouldn't get it right. ;)
I truly know little to nothing about the scarf!

Thankfully, there is help. Chan Luu has put together a pretty cool infographic to assist those (*cough* like me *cough*) who might need to up their game a bit on the art of wearing a scarf. See anything you like? Are you good at tying a scarf?

I have a few scarves, but I stink at tying them in fancy knots, etc. I think scarves are a great way to accessorize, though. They are inexpensive and really cute.

I always wear a scarf, they're such a great accessory. I love my floral print scarves and I've just picked up a Parisian print one for myself too :)

lol I could never tie one any better than that either. Poor guy is looking at you like "what did I do to deserve this?" hahaha

I wear scarves constantly but just always wear them the same. There are some great ideas in this infographic and I can't wait to try my hand at some different looks!

I never even thought about wearing a scarf in so many ways. How cool!

Rosey I am about as good as you say you are at tying scarves. I generally put it around my neck then throw the ends over my shoulder--which is why I rarely wear scarves! I admire those who know how to manipulate them into works of art--unfortunately I am not one of them!

SCarves are so versatile. I recently attended an event where they demonstrated many different ways to wear a scarf.

You gotta have a scarf. I always wear one in the winter. I live in Chicagoland, so if I didn't have a scarf, my face would break off!

I'm still learning how to tie the perfect scarf. I love to wear them, even in the summer time. I'm always wearing one..which reminds me I need to get one for a particular outfit I'm wearing this weekend.

I'm about as good at tying a scarf as I am at "doing" my hair. Luckily, there isn't much call for wearing a scarf here in Georgia. (And if it ever gets cold enough to need one, I ain't going outside!)

Your son looks like bit of scared or may be surprised, lol, but he is pretty cute. I always prefer wearing scarf & I think it has become a important part of my dressing habit these days. I usually prefer Soft Cotton & I would love the softer version of Alpaca as well.

Stefani @ MommyEnterprises.com said...

I love that scarfs are really popular right now. My two teen daughters have probably over a dozen each so I can always borrow one when I want to wear one.

Kecia said...

I've never thought to wear a scarf anywhere but around my neck. Neat to see other options!

Kenya G. Johnson @ KenyaGJohnson.com said...

All look at lil' man. He looks exactly the same except taller. I know how to do a head wrap with a scarf but my husband doesn't care for that look. I reserve it for hot vacations. It worked really great when my hair was really short and I had to do something with it for it to look nice. Too much trouble for that on a vacation. So a head scarf topped with a sun visor worked perfectly. As for getting one to look just right with and outfit, I've attempted throwing the scarf against the wall in a tantrum but it didn't make it to the wall. LOL!
