What Type of Flooring Should I Get? DirectBuy Can Help

I'm ready for new flooring in our main corridor and dining room, both of which currently have carpet. I would love to switch to something easier to clean as both get a lot of foot traffic coming in directly from the outside. There is a spot right at the front door where people can take off their shoes before they come in, but well, you know how that sometimes goes. It's been 7-yrs since we put that carpet in, and although professional cleaning revives it somewhat, it's still time for it to go. Our dilemma? Deciding what kind of flooring will be most appropriate in those places, in terms of both durability and visual appeal. That's where DirectBuy comes in.

With a wide array of flooring available for purchase, DirectBuy understands that deciding which kind of flooring to buy can sometimes be overwhelming. As such, they've put together a handy dandy infograph for you, to help make things a little easier.

  1. We actually just redid our floors to laminate in our kitchen, dining room and living room and couldn't be happier. Just love the way they came out and look now :)

  4. I would love to change out our carpet area too. Maybe leave the bedrooms as is but put wood in the living room and hall.

It's hard to know which to choose, but I know you will make a very good choice.

    And yay for new flooring!

  12. We have hardwood. It's easy to clean, but ours is looking pretty bad. We are thinking of laying stone down like we have in one of our bathrooms because it won't need to be refinished in a few years.

  13. Unfortunately I have no real choice-the rule in this apartment is fully carpeted except the kitchen and bathroom! I really would love to change up the kitchen which is very tiny!

  14. I am at the point where I would rather just move than investment any more time, money or energy into where I am now. I have been considering Bamboo Flooring as I'm just not a carpet person and have hardwood now but don't particularly care for the way it has aged! Will have to look into Direct Buy when I'm ready to make the switch!

  18. Great graphic to have on hand - we did our floors in bamboo - looks great, but - with a strong dog's claws running on it - well certain areas are noticed by me, let's say - so soon we will use your ideas for new flooring!

  26. We put laminate in. I wanted hardwoods but the floor guy told us with so much moisture in the air here that it would warp/expand/contract/other stuff... so we went with the laminate. I'm shocked how nice it looks! :) You wouldn't even know it wasn't real wood!
