Today I have such a fun giveaway!! It seems that aluminum is all the rage right now, and I've totally and happily jumped on the bandwagon.
My family and I like to travel. It's fun to get out and about and see the sites. For most of the places we go, we bring home a nice souvenir to remember our visit. For Rome we brought home a book we purchased at the Colosseum, and while it's a nice book, it's not really something we get to see on display to remind us of our trip. So, when I saw that Collage.com has picture collages that they can put on aluminum, I immediately thought of Rome. I pulled down our photo album from the trip and let hubby pick out what pictures he'd like to have on the wall.
There are a lot of edit options, and the layout to use them is very user-friendly!
The process of creating the collage was easy. The first thing I did was select a size. My aluminum print is an 11 x 14. It comes in five different sizes, starting at 8 x 10 and ending at 20 x 30. The next step was to select my pictures. You can choose as many as you'd like that will fit comfortably on the print. Then of course, as is typical with Collage.com, there are ample and very considerate features to play around with. You can choose a collage shape (there are so many to choose from!), choose how and where to place your photos (or choose 'random'), select from one of many backgrounds, and you can add titles. You can also zoom your photos in or out, overlap them, choose a filter, and choose whether or not to have one of the border options. Those are just a few of the considerations offered when making most any project at Collage.com, and one of the main reasons I love working with them so, when it comes to photo projects.
Our finished product makes me very, very happy.
Another reason I like Collage.com, and this aluminum print project, is quality!! This is a very nice quality on the finished project. The pictures are glossy and if you didn't know better, you'd swear it was glass! That was my impression of it, anyway, but it's far easier to clean than glass, way more durable (aluminum is not going to shatter), and the pictures came out so nice.
The Black & White photo came out just as sharp as the color pictures did.
My husband opted for quite the mix of photo types. You can see in the examples above that the black and white turned out just as sharp as the color, and the 'rainy day' photo that was overcast, of St. Peter's Square printed nicely too (no easy feat with an overcast photo). Most people probably wouldn't select the rainy-day photos, but to us they were indicative of the feel of our trip. It rained every day we were in Rome, except the last day. We loved our trip, rain or no rain, but the constant drizzle added to the 'romantic feel' of the city, if you will. It was just nice.
That being said, when the sun came out...Rome came to life! The Spanish steps that were previously empty were packed with people, the Trevi Fountain suddenly had many, many visitors, and the artists were lining the sidewalks everywhere we went, drawing or painting the scenery around them!
One other note really worth mentioning, is that the aluminum prints are so thin! I put a piece of notebook paper next to mine to gauge it, and the paper is thinner but not by a whole lot!

The top piece has a convenient opening that makes hanging it a breeze.
They aluminum prints are also very easy to hang. The back has two sturdy Styrofoam pieces attached so that the aluminum does not scratch the wall. The top piece has a convenient cut in it that makes hanging it a breeze.
I could not have been happier with the Collage.com aluminum print. It's added such a wonderful touch to our library, and I just want to look at it every time I go in the room. The prices on these vary depending on the size. The 11 x 14 size I selected runs $84.99, and it is worth every penny.
If you would like to get one of these for a holiday gift, the deadline to order and have it shipped in time for Christmas is 12/10. That being said, I'm going to put up a flash giveaway that will end 12/8! That will give you a VERY short time to get your print made and ordered if you want it by the holiday, but if it is a gift, it will be so worth it to take that time to make it (note, you can pay extra for expedited shipping if you decide to/can't order by the 10th). If you enter, be on the lookout for my winning e-mail, in case you win. Rafflecopter will randomly draw a winner at midnight on the 8th and then you'll have to order it by the end of the business day on the 10th in order to get it shipped in time (standard shipping). If it's NOT a gift, then you'll have no rush to use your code.
You can learn more about Collage.com by visiting their website. You can also follow them on Facebook and/or Twitter.
