Wordless Wednesday: Sculptures

$3,200

$15,000

$21,000

We went to a museum recently that in addition to the art show we went to see, had sculptures for sale inside and outside. Check out the selling prices. I bet one blogger I know won't be surprised (her husband does sculpting), but I was floored. Needless to say we didn't bring any of them home with us that day, nor will we be any time in the near future. ;)

  2. Don't think I have the cash for those.

  3. Wow, that's a lot of loot. Wow. I do like the first one the best.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

  4. They are all really nice. I like the wood one the best. They would be a little too much for my budget.

  5. Wow! How unique and beautiful! Thanks for sharing, those are really cool!

  9. Those are beautiful sculptures with some hefty price tags!! Yikes!

  10. Beautiful sculptures. Way too rich for my blood - but they shouldn't belong to "a" person - they should be on display for lots of people to admire!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Beautiful, but too expensive for me! I'm glad that the artists are able to make money on them though!

  12. Interesting sculptures--not worth the money according to me-but then I am sure there are others that would buy them. That first one is very interesting--I think.

  13. Ummm I'm in the wrong line of work I think

  14. Those are fabulous-looking sculptures! I'm sure they're worth the cost....I just can't afford one. :)

  15. nice...i really like that first one...feels so organic to the wood....

  16. Seriously shocked and shouldn't be as Kevin is an artist, but still am just a bit ;)

  17. Love them. And am forced to continue to love sculpture from afar...

    ReplyDelete
  18. These are so beautiful. We have a sculpture park in my city. I need to go there soon with the kids. They would love it.

  19. I think I could do that driftwood one for a quarter of the price!

  20. It's always cool seeing designs like this. It makes you wonder the thought process.

  21. I actually love the wood work. My father always said beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Happy Wordless Wednesday. http://homemom3.com

  22. My grandfather and aunt are both stone sculptures. It takes a lot of work to produce one piece. And they don't always sell, so it might take a year for one piece to be sold. If you think of that way they are only making 21,000 dollars a year, which isn't much at all :) Beautiful sculptures!

  23. I like them so much! They remind me of dancing <3 I once bought a similar small one in Aruba because it looked like a ballerina!

  24. I love abstract art as it can be what ever you think it represents. I love the first and third one.

  25. I followed the link here from Abracabadra's Wordless Wednesday link...and I'm so glad I did. Beautiful sculptures.

  26. Pretty cool but I dont know anyone that would pay that kind of money for them. YIKES!

    ReplyDelete
  27. The prices on the sculptures are a lot (to me, at least), but I do believe it takes a lot of time, patience and skill to make them, correct? My favorite is the one in the middle.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh wow, I can only imagine how much they cost! They look very interesting though!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I like the first one most, I'm not very fond of the very cold modern look that's in style. I think it would have looked even better with less varnish, though!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ooo, that first wooden one is absolutely beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Rosey, I love the sculptures... I think they can be so amazing... people are so creative... :) Have a great rest of the week xox

  41. Wonderful pieces of art. The prices are crazy, but rightfully so.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I really love the first piece (the wooden sculpture) and I'd love to have it at my home, but at that price is gonna be a little bit of a wait! lol

    ReplyDelete
  52. stunning creations with eye watering prices! art really is exclusive for people with money to burn

    ReplyDelete
  53. I love sculptures, but they are quite pricey. We have some really amazing sculptures in our home town of Asheville.

  68. I love looking at unique art! I used to work at a museum!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Oddly enough I like the wood one and its the cheapest. I was invested in art for a long time. Knowing all the hours that goes into a piece , it doesn't surprise me at how much these cost.

  70. Way back in the day (early 90s), right after I graduated college, I lived in NYC with two of my college friends. Then, one of the girls' boyfriend moved in. He fancied himself an artist, particularly a sculptor. He scavenged "trash" for his pieces, particularly old TV sets. He planned on making something artsy with it "one day." All I know is that their bedroom kept filling up with Junk. I was glad when my other roommate and I parted ways with him. I don't know about all sculptors, but he was an odd duck.

  71. These are some amazing sculptures indeed. I always look at things like this to try to get into the Artist head. Thanks for sharing.

  72. I love art - if I could I would have a yard full of sculptures.

  74. These sculptures are so incredibly gorgeous! I'd love one for both our front and back yards.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I totally appreciate them, but not enough to lay out the money for them. I sure like admiring them in museums though.

    ReplyDelete
  76. These are all very unique sculptures.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I think sculptures are a lot of fun to look at. There are so many unique ones out there.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Those are beautiful sculptures. I think sculptures give you a view into the artist's inner thoughts and personality.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I have always loved sculpture! When I would go to the museum with my parents as a kid, they would gravitate to paintings and I would run and find the sculptures and then sit and sketch them all day! LOL

    Happy Wordless Wednesday!

  80. It is fun to view, but to buy, ouch! I like old fashioned art, artists that do pretty paintings and the same with sculpture. Some modern art I don't get it, but I'd love to go to any gallery any time and still appreciate someone's expression!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Those are awesome! That is true. Wonderful to look at and admire, but can't afford to buy it.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Those sculptures are really nice. It takes a lot of talent to do that!

    ReplyDelete
  83. These look cool! thanks for sharing

    ReplyDelete
  84. Sorry to the artist but in my humble opinion that is insane!

    ReplyDelete
  85. I like the wood sculpture the best.... but wow!! So, which one do you like best Rosey?
