Disclosure: This post is a sponsored post, which means I received pay to post it. All opinions in it, are genuine and my own.

If you live in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, or New York,
this post may be of interest to you!

Enter to win free solar power for life!
SunPower makes the highest-efficiency solar panels available, and they are giving away a complete SunPower Solar System (a $16,500 value) to one lucky winner in the states mentioned above!
Enter Here!

Solar Panels intrigue me...so much so that when a house close to ours went for sale, I considered touring it just to get a better look at their roof full of solar panels. We weren't buying at the time, so I refrained (no need to waste anyone's precious time), but I really did want to go visit.

SunPower has a great giveaway going on (see bottom of post), and they've provided a lot of information to help answer a lot of my questions about solar power, and maybe some of yours too!

Saving with Solar Panels: Facts Worth Knowing

• A solar power system on your home may deliver significant savings on your utility bills today, and
act as a hedge on rising utility rates.
• By purchasing a solar power system, you may be eligible for a 30% federal Investment Tax Credit, as well as state and local solar incentives.
• In most states, homeowners with solar power systems also may be eligible to take advantage of net energy metering programs that allow them to receive a financial credit from their utility company for the excess solar power they export to the grid.
• Generating your own emission-free solar power reduces your reliance on fossil fuels and your family’s overall carbon footprint.
• Studies have shown that a solar power system may increase the value of your home (http://cleantechnica.com/2013/12/17/study-shows-rooftop-solar-adds-thousands-to-home-resale-values/).
• With a solar power system on their roof, electric vehicle owners can offset the increased electricity costs with emission-free fuel from the sun.
• Solar technology is proven and reliable. Systems generally are warranted for about 25 years, and there’s usually little to no maintenance required. You don’t have to turn it on in the morning – the sun does that for you.
• Solar systems can be purchased outright or through a loan, and lease programs also are available.
• Increasingly, Americans are going solar. The Solar Energy Industries Association estimates that a solar power system is installed in the US every 3.2 seconds.
• Solar is one of the fastest growing industries in America. There are almost 150,000 U.S. solar jobs today.

Facts About SunPower
• SunPower panels are the most-efficient solar panels on the market (http://us.sunpower.com/solar-panels-technology/facts/), which means your SunPower system will require fewer panels on your roof than a system using conventional solar panels. This is helpful if you have limited usable space on your roof. It also means that, when compared with systems using conventional panels, SunPower systems generate more power – and more savings – over the life of the system.
• SunPower’s Maxeon ® solar cells are fundamentally different from cells used in conventional solar panels, resulting in superior performance, reliability, quality, and aesthetics.
