Wordless Wednesday: You're Never Too Old to Slide

She'll still go down the slide (and wear Hello Kitty shoes),
but there are signs those days are numbered... like the typical teen characteristic
of having a phone stuck to her ear (or fingertips if she's texting). ;)

Valentina is getting to that age too... I tell her to swing and slide for as long as she wants... I say don't grow up... ♡

Awww, there is still a little bit of kid left in her. It's nice to see. Is she mad that you posted this lol?

Janine Huldie said...

Priceless right down to the cell phone in her hand ;)

Sandee said...

If she's lucky she'll have a bit of kid in her for the rest of her life. That's the ticket. She's cute too.

Have a terrific day. ☺

She's a very pretty young woman! And I say, don't let her grow up, just simply refuse to let it happen, lol!!!

Kristi Maloney said...

Well, that's awesome. She's a multi-tasker! Sliding while on the phone! :) I love it when I catch mine doing things that show me that they are "not quite grown."

Mary said...

That's a great capture of a special moment! :) Thanks for sharing!

Pat Hatt said...

lol have to have that phone on at all times. The little slides don't do much for me anymore, but the big ones, those are still fun

LOL I love that she's sliding WITH the phone...how teenager of her. I like swinging on the swings still :) And I would wear Hello Kitty shoes if I had them. Very cute pic :)

That's right! I slide with my kids at the park all the time!

Ronnie E. said...

haha a more true statement has never been made! I go to the park at night to slide... I'm not allowed on during the day. :D

I think this is actually when empty nest syndrome begins. My nephew is 13, and I'm so grateful he still wants to hang out with me. Those days will be over soon.

Pam said...

Too funny! I have a similar picture of my daughter when she was in her teens. They never get too old to want to slide or swing.

Lois Alter Mark said...

So funny! We should always celebrate the child in us, no matter how old we are!

Holy Ghost Writer said...

Slides are always fun

Jeanine said...

There is no age limit when it comes to slides and fun!

Soiree Design Studio said...

LOL! the last time Hubby and I were at the playground with our kids, I got on the swings for the first time in YEARS...i had the best time! Couldn't stop laughing!

Nicole Ramage said...

Maybe if she started babysitting she would do those things again... for fun. I found that having a kid was the easiest way to relive childhood without people staring at you funny.

Binky said...

Whatever did teens do before there were smart phones?

Jaredamy said...

Swings and slides were always my favorite toys to play on in the playgrounds. My kids love playing on the slide in their yard.

Maurene said...

Slides are so much fun for whatever age! Whenever I take my toddler to the park, I always go on the slide with her and she loves it :)

Katy Rose said...

I still love slides and swings and all other playground equipment. Luckily I had 8 younger siblings that gave me the perfect excuse to keep playing. Now I've got two nephews and a niece who are the excuse. - Katy

I love this! :) So awesome.

The Mommy-Files said...

I would love to slide more if I didn't get butt-burn on the way down. Too heavy on the rear against the metal I guess LOL

Kathleen said...

Dang right, I am on slides and swings with my boys all the time and I don't care who looks.

Kate K said...

I love going to the playground and playing with my kids. Even my big girls get a kick out of swinging and playing on the slide.

She may stay young like that for forever. I have a friend that's 38. She still wears ponytails, like Hello Kitty, and is very kid like. She doesn't dress like that at work. She has a serious job. I had to do a double take when I saw her looking all professional.

Theresa Mahoney said...

Ain't nothing wrong with wearing some Hello Kitty and sliding down the slides no matter what age you are. I am 34 and still do both from time to time ;)

Cam said...

Cute. Heck, I still find it fun to slide every now and then. :)

Cheap Is The *New* Classy said...

My daughter does very similar things. For instance, she has a job and drives like an adult, but she still loves playing in the play place at McDonalds LOL!

Janeane Davis said...

I don't slide, but I truly enjoy the swings at the playground.

debdenny said...

Never give up the slide. Can be fun.

Jess Cammerman said...

I say, you never have to grow up if you don't want to! Age is just a number :)

April Mims said...

Slides are so much fun! It's a great way to destress and go back to your childhood for a moment!

Casa Vilora Interiors said...

Lol. It is nice to act like a kid again. i'd be worried that I might get stuck

Slides are so much fun. As adults we miss those times.

I still can't pass it up!! Never too old to slide!

Tracey said...

Love this! We should also stay true to the kid inside us!

Maddi'sMommy said...

Agreed! I still go down with my daughter.

Chelle W said...

I'm 34 and still go on the slide with or without the kids. It's so much fun!

Tiffany Cruz said...

I will always go down a slide if I'm at the park. My boys love that I act like a kid when we play at the park. You're never too old for a slide.

Chrystal Mahan said...

I remember when I was that age.....kiddo is almost 10...seems like shes going on 15 some days. Me? I'm 39 and will still swing and slide!!

Ben Butler said...

My nephew is 13, and he's growing like a weed! I'm so proud of the young man he's growing up to be, but I HATE watching it. I'm already dreading college. Early empty nest syndrome? Why yes, I believe so.

Kristin and Megan said...

I still love going down the slide with my kiddos!

Danielle Leigh said...

I have to agree. One is definitely never too old for the slide. Or for the swings! ;)

Christina Aliperti said...

My son is 16 and he is still a kid at heart. I see how much pressure he has from peers to "grow up" and I am so happy he hasn't tried to rush it.

Shelley Eaglin Eaglin said...

I still run around the playground with the kiddos!

Christie C said...

Heck, I still go down the slide! As long as I still fit :)

Ruchira Khanna said...

Indeed!
Never too old to enjoy what we did as kids :)

hahaha they do still do it, my lot do too,"for the babies" of course :)

Megan Chamberlin said...

I still go down the slide. Also, at his 4th birthday, my husband and his cronies hopped in the bounce house. You're as old as you feel!!

Cheap Is The *New* Classy said...

My daughter is almost 18 and it's hard to get her to get out of the play place!

Lexie Lane said...

LOL! I do this every week! You're so right!

Colette S said...

Yes yes, one must never be too old for simple fun :)
They do grow right out of it eh.

I still remember doing silly things and having so much fun in my senior year of high school. I hope she enjoys the fun for years to come.

Terra Heck said...

She's at the age where it's "not cool" to do things like that but the kid in them still slips through from time to time.

(Terry) My Journey With Candida said...

Speaking of slides. Manzanita took me to this cool place to get fossil rocks. I climbed up the hill a little bit and it was all I could do to keep from sliding back down.
BTW.. your daughter is sure growing up fast.

Rose-Marie said...

How cute! I remember being a tween and I still loved to play horsey, but I would make my sisters vow to not tell anyone, especially boys.
