Wordless Wednesday: You're Never Too Old to Slide

She'll still go down the slide (and wear Hello Kitty shoes),
but there are signs those days are numbered... like the typical teen characteristic
of having a phone stuck to her ear (or fingertips if she's texting). ;)

  1. Valentina is getting to that age too... I tell her to swing and slide for as long as she wants... I say don't grow up... ♡

  3. Priceless right down to the cell phone in her hand ;)

  4. If she's lucky she'll have a bit of kid in her for the rest of her life. That's the ticket. She's cute too.

    Have a terrific day. ☺

  5. She's a very pretty young woman! And I say, don't let her grow up, just simply refuse to let it happen, lol!!!

  6. Well, that's awesome. She's a multi-tasker! Sliding while on the phone! :) I love it when I catch mine doing things that show me that they are "not quite grown."

  17. I think this is actually when empty nest syndrome begins. My nephew is 13, and I'm so grateful he still wants to hang out with me. Those days will be over soon.

  18. Too funny! I have a similar picture of my daughter when she was in her teens. They never get too old to want to slide or swing.

    1. My nephew is 13, and he's growing like a weed! I'm so proud of the young man he's growing up to be, but I HATE watching it. I'm already dreading college. Early empty nest syndrome? Why yes, I believe so.

  19. So funny! We should always celebrate the child in us, no matter how old we are!

  20. There is no age limit when it comes to slides and fun!

  21. LOL! the last time Hubby and I were at the playground with our kids, I got on the swings for the first time in YEARS...i had the best time! Couldn't stop laughing!

  22. Maybe if she started babysitting she would do those things again... for fun. I found that having a kid was the easiest way to relive childhood without people staring at you funny.

  23. Whatever did teens do before there were smart phones?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Swings and slides were always my favorite toys to play on in the playgrounds. My kids love playing on the slide in their yard.

  25. Slides are so much fun for whatever age! Whenever I take my toddler to the park, I always go on the slide with her and she loves it :)

  26. I still love slides and swings and all other playground equipment. Luckily I had 8 younger siblings that gave me the perfect excuse to keep playing. Now I've got two nephews and a niece who are the excuse. - Katy

  28. I would love to slide more if I didn't get butt-burn on the way down. Too heavy on the rear against the metal I guess LOL

  29. Dang right, I am on slides and swings with my boys all the time and I don't care who looks.

  31. She may stay young like that for forever. I have a friend that's 38. She still wears ponytails, like Hello Kitty, and is very kid like. She doesn't dress like that at work. She has a serious job. I had to do a double take when I saw her looking all professional.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ain't nothing wrong with wearing some Hello Kitty and sliding down the slides no matter what age you are. I am 34 and still do both from time to time ;)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Cute. Heck, I still find it fun to slide every now and then. :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. My daughter does very similar things. For instance, she has a job and drives like an adult, but she still loves playing in the play place at McDonalds LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I don't slide, but I truly enjoy the swings at the playground.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Never give up the slide. Can be fun.

  37. I say, you never have to grow up if you don't want to! Age is just a number :)

  38. Slides are so much fun! It's a great way to destress and go back to your childhood for a moment!

  49. My son is 16 and he is still a kid at heart. I see how much pressure he has from peers to "grow up" and I am so happy he hasn't tried to rush it.

  57. LOL! I do this every week! You're so right!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yes yes, one must never be too old for simple fun :)

  60. I still remember doing silly things and having so much fun in my senior year of high school. I hope she enjoys the fun for years to come.

    ReplyDelete
  61. She's at the age where it's "not cool" to do things like that but the kid in them still slips through from time to time.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Speaking of slides. Manzanita took me to this cool place to get fossil rocks. I climbed up the hill a little bit and it was all I could do to keep from sliding back down.
BTW.. your daughter is sure growing up fast.

  63. How cute! I remember being a tween and I still loved to play horsey, but I would make my sisters vow to not tell anyone, especially boys.
