Golden Blossom Honey: Great Honey, Recipes, & a Giveaway!

Disclosure: I received free honey to make a recipe (thank you Golden Blossom!). All opinions stated are genuine and my own. Brought to you by Advertise with Bloggers.

One lucky winner is going to get (2) bottles of Golden Blossom Genuine Natural Pure Honey
& (2) bottles of Golden Blossom White Forest (100% Organic) Pure Honey.

One of the great things about Golden Blossom Honey (and there are plenty), is that they have this really great recipe section! Seriously, I could type in almost any food word I thought of and get a huge selection of recipes to view. Hubby was in the mood for chicken when we were browsing, and the recipe we decided to make was French Country Chicken.

For the French Country Chicken Recipe we made, we used the
Golden Blossom Genuine Natural Pure Honey

We already had everything on hand except zucchini and yellow squash. While I love both, my husband doesn't like either, so we substituted red and green bell peppers. The recipe was a cinch to make too.

Ingredients
3 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup chicken broth
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
2 whole chicken breasts, halved, skinned and boned
1 cup carrots, diced
1 cup red onion, diced
1 cup zucchini, cut into 1/2-inch chunks
1 cup yellow squash, cut into 1/2-inch chunks
1/4 cup dry red wine
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2 cups cooked long-grain or basmati rice
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Directions
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the first 6 ingredients. Set aside.
  • Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over a medium high heat. Add chicken and sauté about 6 minutes per side, until chicken is browned. Remove from pan. Keep warm.
  • Add the carrots, onion, zucchini, yellow squash, wine and vinegar to pan. Sauté about 5 minutes. Return cooked chicken to pan and add reserved broth mixture. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Serve over rice and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
Serves 4.

This is what the dish looked like before I covered it in the sauce.
My husband honestly loved this dish. He said it was full of rich flavors!

This was such a great way to try our Golden Blossom Honey!! I chose to slice the chicken & place it over the Basmati rice. The picture above was taken just before I poured the sauce over the top. My husband loved this recipe, and said it was a keeper he wanted to have for dinner again (regularly). The chicken really holds on to the sauce well, and the sticky consistency of the rice was perfect for wrapping it all up nicely on his fork.

About the Honey

The Golden Blossom Honey - Genuine Natural Pure Honey is unique in that it is a blend of only pure honeys. The recipe for this honey has been around since 1921, and has an orange, sage buckwheat, and extra white clover honey combo in it along with three distinctively different varieties of honey.

The Golden Blossom Organic White Forest Honey is a blend of organic honey sourced from Brazil. This honey is great for baking or putting in your tea (to name two of many things), and it is 100% organic.

Both types of honey are smooth and delicious. With the holidays coming up (my mind runs in holiday mode from Oct. - the New Year), I can't help but think how great these would be for care packages or gift boxes as well. High quality honey is just a nice treat!

Be sure to check out the website & view the "Product Information" for Golden Blossom Honey. Don't forget to check out the recipes while you're there. You can also sign up for the Bee Mail monthly recipe newsletter!

You can follow Golden Blossom Honey on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Pinterest.

One lucky winner is going to get two bottles of each kind of honey. US entrants only.
