(Almost) Wordless Wednesday

Last year we went to a birthday party for a friend of my son's (at Chuck E. Cheese).

The child got to go in this ticket blaster for 30 seconds &
my son thought that was the coolest thing ever!

So this year, I called to see how much it would cost to party w/the mouse.
The party would have been close to $100.
The ticket blaster alone, just $3 for 30 seconds.
We had the party elsewhere and swung in for a little extra surprise.
Little man was delighted!

chuck e cheese!!!!!! we go once or twice a year...it is def expensive...we rocked the groupon for the roller skate / laser tag place this year...all you can play for 4 friends for $20

I know my girls loved that ticket blaster at one of their friends parties, too. But with you on not paying to have the party there if I could find a better location for less money, too.

Sounds like a good compromise!

Oh, both my kids are desperate to have a chuck e cheese party...I keep stalling and telling them, maybe someday. :) Hopefully I can hold it off again this year, because, whatever we end up doing, they love anyway.

Launna said...

Wow... that is expensive... I'm glad he was happy with your surprise... he sounds like great kid :-)

mail4rosey said...

He really is a nice guy, Launna. We're pretty lucky. :)

It sure looks like much fun, no wonder he was happy. I thin any child would have been :)..
Have a great rest of the week!

I have always wanted to go in the Ticket Blaster! We learned our lesson about the cost of the parties there when Mariah was a baby. They are ridiculous!

Elephant's Child said...

Excellent decision - and a very happy boy. Win/win.

Nancy Partin said...

My nieces did it one year and they both freaked out.. they were so scared. I like you opt to not spend the money on the party and do something more special for my boys.

It's the small things that count the most. You gave him the part he really wanted.

I so remember going there when my son will little. I hated their pizza, but the place was so much fun for the kids. It appears it's the same, but way pricier.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

I remember that place - we used to go visit all the time. My grandson is coming in three weeks and we are going to take him there! Glad your family had some fun!

Chuck E. Cheese FTW! I LOVED that place when I was a kid. You can't get much better than flashing lights, video games, and pizza.

Yeah, it's worth whatever cost. I'd go wild in that ticket blaster too.

Cheers, Rosey. Keep a smile.

Times sure do change and prices sure do skyrocket! I took my son to Check E. Cheese when he was young because it was fairly inexpensive at the time--thirty years ago!

My kids really want to do this too, but too expensive.
So I take them and purchase coins to play and then we leave. They have fun, life is good. :)

Love your idea of the drop in after the party.

They told him he could get tickets any way possible, except grabbing them off the floor. He was so careful not to touch any that went near the floor, so he really didn't get many. The guy running it was nice though, and slipped him a handful at the end. ;)

Elliott has been trying to convince me to take him to Missouri for his birthday next year so he can have his party there. There's not one even remotely close to us (the nearest is about 5 hours away), but we do go fairly regularly when we are at my mom's house since she is only about 30 minutes away from one.

At least if we did it in Missouri, we would only be inviting his cousins, so that would certainly save money over having a big one with lots of friends.

Shell said...

I went in one of those. It was much, much harder than it looks!

I'm sure the look on his face was well worth it but wow 3.00 is a lot.

I don't ever go to Chuck E Cheese and wouldn't spend the $100 either. I have been doing less parties with the years and just spending the funds in treating them to fun activities.
