Teachers Pay Teachers: A+ Resource for School Teachers!

There's a guest blogger in the house today!  Joyce from Catch My Words writes one of my favorite blogs. She was also instrumental in settling my mommy nerves when I was trying to make the decision of whether or not to have my son repeat Kindergarten (he's on the birthday bubble and met the age deadline by a couple of days to enter that year).  Her advice to let him repeat was sound!! And my son flourished last year, in every area socially and academically.  He will turn 7 in about three weeks and start 1st grade shortly after. I'm very comfortable with where he is now. Repeating was the best thing for him. I'm very grateful and glad I had an experienced and unbiased voice in Joyce when I really needed to hear one that I trusted.

You can visit Joyce at Catch My Words (be sure to say hello if you do, everyone loves comments!). :)  You can also follow her on Twitter.

Now on to her post. This is a great resource, so I hope you will read it and share it too! Thank you Joyce, for agreeing to guest post today!!  I very much appreciate it!

Teachers Preparing For a New School Year

In Memphis, our school year kicked off on August 4th. I know it's early, but that's how things roll here in the south. Since the year's starting, whether we want it to or not, it might be a good time to pick up some unit plans from my Teachers Pay Teachers Store. I have 257 products in a variety of topics. What is consistent with most of my products is that they are geared toward the high end learner, since I've taught gifted and talented students since 1986.

Some of my most popular items are my novel studies. I've also created many math word problems, which relate to specific books. This is a great addition to any literacy study since the infamous "they" claim that we should blend multi-subjects into learning.

Furthermore, many of my math themed products break down skills to help teachers explain concepts so that kids may understand.

Writing is also a specialty of mine. As an aspiring author, I attend yearly writing conferences where I have picked up great tips and imbedded them in my teaching units. Not to mention, many of my units contain achievement testing type questions to help prepare kids for the big day.

I've made a lot of money on teachers pay teachers and believe you should, too. Opening my own teacher store was easy. I just downloaded products I'd already written and bingo. I have a store. You may use THIS LINK to get started.

Please stop by my store HERE and/or start your own store HERE. Have a great start to your school year.

I tried to hold my son out of pre-school and kindergarten for a year because he too just made the cutoff. The school board told me it was not my decision and that I had to send him regardless of if I thought he was ready or not. That is the day we decided to homeschool our youngest because it should be my decision not some stupid date on the calendar.

I think kids excel when they are ready. Sometimes when they are on the young side they just aren't ready. I'm glad you were able to figure out that he needed a little more time. It will probably make a major difference for him throughout his entire education.

The teacher resource site sounds amazing!
