One of my favorite ice cream memories (and I have plenty of them) is of leaving my son in the basement with his dad during a football game. Little man was in the playpen, perfectly content, but when he wanted out, his dad was in the middle of a great part of the game. Hubby walked over to the freezer and came back with an ice cream bar to occupy him...that was our son's first ice cream bar ever.
When Dad is Watching the Little Ones,
There's Sure to Be Ice Cream Involved (& probably not a bib)
I don't remember what I was doing, but I know I wasn't upstairs long. When I got back, I was greeted with this (see picture above). ;) It was one of those moment where you couldn't do a thing but laugh...and grab the camera. My son fell in love with ice cream that day, and he has been enamored ever since.
No need to wait for the ice cream truck if you've got a Walgreens nearby!
When we lived in Florida, there was an ice cream truck that came by the house. Oh, how my oldest two boys would run to get me when they heard the first strains of music. Today, however, we live in Michigan and there are no ice cream trucks out here in the country. That's okay though, we've got a Walgreens...and they've got all of our ice cream buying needs covered.
Yeah...that's a good shopping trip.
Walgreens sells a great variety of Unilever Brand Ice Creams!
We recently purchased Klondike Bars and the decadently rich Magnum bars.
Unilever makes some of our most favorite brands of ice cream, including Magnum, Breyers, Klondike, Frutare, and Popsicle. On a recent trip to Walgreens, I let the kids pick out two flavors to bring home. We ended up with Klondike bars and Magnum Double Caramel Ice Cream Bars. I have not had the Magnum Bars, but oh my goodness... let me just say there is something about Vanilla Bean ice cream dipped in caramel and covered in Belgian Chocolate that makes you feel rich! Those ice cream bars were oh so yummy-delicious. It was our first time trying those, it will not be the last.
Yes, we could have waited to get home to break out the Klondike Bars,
but sometimes it's more fun not to (wait). ;)
The kids like the Klondike Bars...we may or may not have made it to the car before they asked (and I agreed) for them to open and eat one. Yes, we could have waited to get home, but sometimes it's more fun not to...this was one of those times. ;)
When you're craving the ice cold yumminess that can only be satisfied by ice cream, you don't have to wait for the ice cream truck; head on over instead to your local Walgreens. Your tummy...and your kids if you have any and are generous enough to take them along...will thank you. Mine thanked me...profusely. :)
