(Sort of) Wordless Wednesday: Thomas the Train

Noelle at Jumpin Beans' blog has been to this event & made it sound so great!
So when I saw a giveaway at Mama of Many Blessings,
I entered and was lucky enough to have won!

Participants got to ride an old train that was in really excellent condition.
The front of the train was painted like Thomas the Train

An old caboose was on display (I thought that was cool).

And they gave us a 45-minute ride through the city and the woods.

Not everyone made it through...including my son,
my husband, and 80% of the other kids and dads on board. ;)

You can see in the picture above that my husband and little man fell asleep on the train. That was not uncommon. By the end of the 45-minute ride, roughly 80% of the dads and little ones were fast asleep. ;)

Sleeping aside, it was a really fun day with bubbles, carousel rides (the fastest spinning carousel we've ever been on), a hay maze, live shows, and photo opps. If you get a chance to go (Day out with Thomas), I highly recommend it. We had a great time and I suspect we'll be returning next year!

  2. Wow, what a wonderful trip to have won! My kids all loved their rides on Thomas when they were younger. :-) (actually, a couple of them still play with their Thomas trains, lol. I don't think you ever outgrow the love of trains!) :-)

  3. LOL Sleepin on Thomas the Train! Now that's a first. Do you happen to know NightOwlMama? She was there with her little guy too! That's my daughter and grandson. I believe she has pics too! What a beautiful train though. It reminds me a tad of Chattanooga Train we went to see in Tennessee one time. That was fun. Thanks for sharing Girlfriend! I love quality family time! Hugs!

    1. $21 for a 45 minute ride. There were tons of other things to do all day long if you wanted, so it was a good value.

  78. Oh Rosey, my Mom loved trains but when I was young they weren't that accessible around here (for passengers) but now we have a great system here in Utah.

Yes, I have just needing to slide into home plate, but bounce right up and enter into radiation and herceptin. (the next phases) but they will not be at all like chemo was AT ALL.

    Thanks for your love!!
