Crazy Aaron's Puttyworld was created by a young man on the lookout for the ultimate desk toy. After one stint of convincing his co-workers to pitch in to order 100 lb. of putty, and then having it run out very quickly, Aaron began experimenting on ways to create, color, and manufacture putty on his own. He took it to work to sell in 1 lb. boxes and that was such a success that when the world of the dot.com bubble that he was working in burst, he took to producing and selling putty full time. His efforts paid off, and he is now the proud owner of a very successful business.
The selections at Puttyworld are amazing, to say the least. There is a putty that is magnetic; one that offers phantom writing with UV lighting; another that is heat sensitive; a shimmery, glittery putty that is sure is to please; an arctic flair that is reactive and glows in the dark, and so on and so forth (check out the site to see many other varieties and types of putty for sale).
We tried two types. The first was the Heat Sensitive Hypercolor in Twilight. It came in a cute and very easy to store tin container. You can see the consistency in the picture above. We loved that this variety of putty never dries out. That's big news for moms with little ones who might not yet have the art of putting things away just right, quite mastered.
It was also easy to stretch, pull, and roll around into any shape you wanted to make. My favorite thing about it was that it did not make a mess. My son had this in his hair (don't ask), around his neck as a big, twisted necklace, on my arms (gifted in the form of a bracelet), and created into an elaborate lair for his mini building men to hide out in. It's super easy to clean up and doesn't stick to things or people! My son's favorite thing about it was the way it changed colors. You put it in the freezer and in a few seconds it turns from blue to purple. Roll it around in your hands for a few seconds more, and it turns right back to blue again (you can see the color change in the photo above).
The second type of putty we tried was one of the Putty Creatures. These come in great colors (we selected the orange) and include a pair of eyeballs. The options for creating with them are endless, and fun!
Okay, I found a blast from the past that made me smile for a couple of reasons. 1). I smiled because we have been using Aaron's putty since 2014, and we still love it as much as we did way back when. My son is much older now, but he still loves this stuff. and 2). because so many of you who commented way back then are still visitors/followers today, and for all of my readers, but especially those of you who are still coming to visit, I am so very grateful!!
So first, let's talk about the new (or at least new to me). Crazy Aaron's now has mini thinking putties, including this cute 3-pack for Halloween. These are about the size of a half-a-dollar (how long has it been since we've seen one of those??). Of course, because it's Aaron's, they have made the putty into something extra (in a good way). My favorite of these three is the orange sparkle. called 'Treat.' These are small enough to slip in your pocket, and the best thing about Crazy Aaron's putty is that it never dries out. These are cute to purchase for trick-or-treaters or for your own kids. I briefly considered purchasing a tin for each of my students, but I have 195 of them this year, so I decided not to do it this time.
I've changed from being a middle school teacher to being a high school teacher this year, so I have a lot more students. It's not quite as easy to treat them as it was in years past. I know though, that these would have been a very welcome classroom surprise. What kid doesn't love putty?

Thinking Putty® helps build hand and finger strength through a fabulous tactile play experience with unique, unexpected properties and provides relaxing, yet stimulating interaction for anyone with sensory integration issues.
Crazy Aaron's putty is non-toxic, won't dry out, and won't leave a sticky or slippery residue on your fingers, so it's great for stretching, molding, bouncing, tearing, popping and playing by kids and adults alike.
The rest of this post, is ny blast from the past. This was my review of Aaron's in 2014:
This is the Heat Sensitive Hypercolor putty in Twilight. There are also so many other types, colors, and textures of putty to choose from on the website. |

His first Putty Creature was pretty cute. :) |

My son made several monsters, the first one being a long, skinny guy that made us laugh. This is just the kind of toy I love for my son. Something that is top of the line at encouraging imagination and creativity (but isn't too hard to master), and my son brought his thinking cap to the table!! We had a great time with our new Crazy Aaron's Puttyworld products.
The putty is affordable and fun. You can learn more about it, browse through some of the creative crafting ideas, or learn more about the company by visiting the website.

ReplyDeleteYa Rosie, just to clarify. True in four days I get the last infusion of poison, but the 21 days after each "chemo day" is when you feel the stuff working. Like I am still on day 18 in chemo 5 right today. And I have been having nausea issues in the past few days, which is very annoying. Usually I get the nausea on day 2-3 and deal with it for a week. So why now? Ya, dang chemo is sooooooooo unpredictable. So I am actually focusing on Aug 29th! Then all symptoms will be gone (or they had better be) Oh, I just cancer! I just do. Pray that you never get near it in any way, shape or form. It is a nasty disease.
ReplyDeleteI love the story. This looks like some amazing putty!
