Sports Unlimited: Franklin Wooden Washer Set

Disclosure: I received a product to help facilitate the review. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Sports Unlimited has made us a very happy family. It is officially party season...'party' for us meaning family and friends coming over to bbq, visit, or just hang out in the yard to enjoy the warm weather and chat. ;)  Inevitably when people are over (or even when no one's visiting at all) we break out the games. The best outdoor games, usually, are the ones with simple rules that everyone in the family, regardless of age, will have fun playing.

The two boxes latch together and have a secure carrying handle.

The Franklin Wooden Washer Game we were sent is a game that is very easy to learn, and very fun to play.

Making good use of our backyard (hurrah for warm weather!) by playing our new Franklin Wooden Washer Game.

The game is made of two very sturdy wooden boxes that latch together for convenience and storage. Everything in this set is made of simple, high quality materials. In a nutshell, it's built to be durable. That makes it a no-brainer to take along on tailgating trips, family outings, picnics, and long weekends at the beach or campground.

Someone in the house was good at the game from the get-go.

The game is easy to learn, with the folks on one side trying to get their rings into the box on the other side (for points). The washers are two different colors to differentiate whose are whose.  My 6-yr. old could play it (and play it he did!), and every single person in the house thought it was fun.

I'm not even going to tell you how hard the sweet and innocent looking child in the picture above laughed when his mom threw and missed. But...

It wasn't long however, before mama got her groove on. ;)

It wasn't long before I got the hang of it, and then it was game-on, turkey sweet boy!  :)

I like this set because it's got inclusive storage (so parts don't get misplaced). I also liked that the washers you throw are made of wood so they have a nice weight to them...not too heavy, but just right for getting a good aim and throw.

This is a fun game, but it's not the only game Sports Unlimited offers!! Take a look at their website. It's jam-packed full of summer fun just waiting to be made!  You can also follow them on Facebook and/or Twitter.

What a great game - reminds me of the bean bag game "corn hole". My sister's boy friend's family plays that all the time. You throw bean bags at a platform and try to get them through the hole. Your son was laughing with you not at you! lol Glad you got the hang of it!! lol

That looks like great fun, and a good deal less dangerous than horseshoes (said the woman who broke her first window at 45 years of age with a horseshoe).

Brian Miller said...

What a great site! My stepdaughter is only here about once a month now--and she's 14, so she probably wouldn't be too into that stuff. But having once been with her all day at 8 and 9 and 10 years old, I know having something to do throughout the day is invaluable!

Me too. I don't like to sit and sort through complicated instructions when I want to play a game.

I think all games should have sturdy storage. I hate lost game pieces!

mail4rosey said...

Ooooooooooooooohhhhh!! hahahahahaha It's SO not funny, but still..hahahahahaha. Oh my. Someone purchased a BB gun for my older two boys once. It wasn't long before I paid for a neighbor's window and the gun was taken away. It was totally not funny. Years later (and it's been probably 15 years ago) it's still not funny. ;)

mail4rosey said...

We have a mini corn hole game, and the full-sized Bolo Ball. I like them both. :)

Looks like a great outdoor game. I like games that encourage physical activity for kids.

Nothing is funnier then an adult that can't play a kids game. I think sometimes we are cheap entertainment to our children.
