It's Spring Break Here!

It's Spring Break here right now.

We initially were making plans to go to Copenhagen this week. It's a place my husband and I really want to visit, and a trip we cancelled about 7 years ago when we found out I was expecting (I know it's safe to fly when you are, but I never have, & don't wanna').

Those plans were scrapped for a trip we had to take to Nebraska (I had a presentation to make to a committee).

Little man started to get sick Sunday night, and on Monday morning (the morning we were set to leave), he flat out had the flu, and could not hold anything down, not even water.  He was up a bit yesterday, but had a hard night again last night, and it's now Thursday, so this one was a doozey!

Hence we are not in Nebraska.

I miss that we didn't go to Copenhagen, and I miss that we didn't go to Nebraska (different reasons, but still and the same...).  It's okay though because it's been so nice to have no plans.

Yesterday we had our first no-winter-coat day of the year, so I was hoping we'd have play-outside weather while we're off too.  No such luck, it was windy and freezing when I rolled the garbage can out to the road this morning.  That's okay though, we've been on a board game, DVD, reading, writing, laughing, loving indoor frenzy, and we're okay with that. ;)

Did anyone else get out and about for Spring Break?

  1. We do school vacations a little differently here in New England. Our April school vacation isn't until the 3rd week of the month, but we are heading out to San Diego!

  2. Good morning Mail4Rosey. This Cruisinpaul here and it was nice of you to read my blog. Yes, Sandee is one of my new friends and Bee, she is wonderful and thoughtful best friend of them all. I enjoyed your blog this morning. Copenhagen, isn't that where ther are beautiful women? Ha,ha,ha. Sounds wonderful. I'm sorry to see that you weren't able to get there. Maybe the next time. Have a wonderful day and keep smiling. See ya.

  3. Good morning Rosey, sorry to hear about little man being sick and I hope he feels better and about the vacation plans. Sometimes it's just nice to stay home and to just be together everyone and do what you want to do when you want to! My daughter does not start her spring vacation until the 16th and then the week after Easter we will all be home and no major plans either which is OK with me! I just love not having to get up as early in the morning! Well take care and enjoy the stay cation!

  4. Here in NY, our spring break isn't until the third week of this month right before Easter, so we are truly hoping for more spring like weather by this point. Today is going to be around 60 and sunny, but tomorrow rain and chilly again. So we never know one day to the next now. But so sorry your little guy got sick and hope you get some nicer weather and everyone is well for the weekend at the very least :)

  8. I avoid spring break, but I don't have kids at home anymore so I don't need to go. Been there, done that, and have the t-shirt. I'm sorry that you had to cancel your trip due to your babies illness. I so remember doing that often when my son was growing up.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

  9. Our spring break is next week, and I am really hoping for nice weather. We did have a few nice day this week though, so Allison and I spent some time on the trampoline. My legs are paying for that now though lol.

Sorry your son isn't feeling so well this week. I hope he gets better soon!

  10. That's too bad that you were unable to go anywhere for spring break. I hate it when little ones get sick. We are leaving for Arizona on Saturday and I can't wait! I am looking forward to the warmer weather.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

  11. I hope you get a chance to go to Copenhagen sometime.

Our boys had spring break like 4 weeks ago. It seemed way too early for spring break! My school had theirs 3 weeks ago. That's when I was sick with the ear infections. I guess it's better I was sick while they were gone then having to skip out on teaching. I was ok with sitting in the office, but wouldn't want to talk for lecture.

  12. Hi Rosey .. sometimes being at home is the best - and you're making the most of it. However I hope that Copenhagen comes off - I've never been but would love to .. also hope that Nebraska presentation can be made at another day .. Cheers and enjoy just being able to be - while little one recovers ... Hilary

  16. Sorry to hear your little man isn't feeling well. Glad you are enjoying your "no plan" time at home! Remember: Copenhagen isn't going anywhere! You'll get there. Eventually! :)

  17. Too bad about Copenhagen, but yep, if the kids get sick, all bets are off. But nothing wrong with a little family togetherness, right? We went to a waterpark here in Texas in early March for spring break. It was cold and rainy, lol, which makes tubing less than interesting. But thankfully there was a heated pool we got to enjoy!

  22. I hope little man gets better. I would love to go to Copenhagen. While in Australia, my daughter has become great friends with a girl from Denmark. The woman is 6'3" blond, thin, and gorgeous. I guess all the people from Denmark are beautiful!

  29. My kids are out for spring break this week - they are having fun - my hubs and I are trying to take down wallpaper.

Hope your little guy feels much better.

  30. So many sick people around here too. I think it is those warm then cold days making the germs breed. Hope your little man gets well soon

  31. I'm so sorry your little guy was sick :-( I hope he's better now. Our Spring Break is this next week, but no major plans. Just little things like maybe having some of the kids' friends over. Unfortunately my husbands' job makes it hard to do vacations and it's getting harder now-he's been getting all sorts of overtime...at least we can save up for our house plans! ;-)

  32. Your spring break is early! Stinks that little man was sick for it and you guys couldn't leave. Christopher's spring break is the week after next. I'll meet my dad halfway for the exchange ;-) It'll just be me and the hubs here left to our own devices.

  33. That still seemed to turn out great! Some of our best family moments have come when we have stayed home and disconnected from the outside!! I hope the whole break is just as good!!!
