Twigtale Personalized Stories, Personalized Growth (with book giveaway)

Disclosure: I received a free product to help facilitate the review. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

Twigtale Personalized Books knows that dealing with transitions is not always easy for children, even if they are common everyday transitions like going to school, sleeping in a new bed, learning to share, going to the doctor, and so on and so forth.  When you get the big changes like the illness of a loved one, loss of a pet, or even a family separation or divorce, kids can get really confused with their emotions.

One way to help children learn about and deal with such situations is to read a relevant story to them, that is of course age appropriate.  Twigtale has you covered with many book topics pre-designed to help you better explain to the children what is going on, and let them know everything is going to be okay.  The best part is, you can personalize the pages with your own photos, and you can change some of the words, to help fit your needs.

My 'baby-wearing' oldest son taking his little girl to the beach for the first time.
This is the Twigtale website, and this is a screen shot of the process.
On the left you see pictures I uploaded to the gallery. You scroll through with the arrows
on the left to choose a picture for each page.

There are also 'every day' book topic selections, like 'Me and Mommy,' 'Me and Daddy,' (I thought those would be great for Mother's Day or Father's Day which are coming up very quickly!), and 'My Book of Firsts,' to name a few.  You can see an example of the latter in the picture above (that is the book cover).

That is my oldest son taking his daughter to the beach for the first time, and that picture makes me happy. :)

These are not like a typical photo book where every page is written by you. Those are great but they do take so much time to make.  Twigtale books are pre-written, and you have the option to change a word or two on each page.  In the picture above you can see that I selected my own title (I used 'Mail for Rosey' for an example, if I were making the book for my granddaughter it would have her name, and say 'by Grandma,' instead of 'by Rosey').

Example Page:  You get to choose the word 'boy' or 'girl' (or you could fill in your own word).
Everything else was permanent, which is great for keeping it simple, on-task, and relevant to the storyline you selected.
Each page has a word or two that you change to personalize the simple, pre-written story, and a place to add your photo of choice. For example, in the template above I put in the world 'girl.' Everything else was pre-written and you were to choose 'boy' or 'girl,' or you could fill in your own word of choice. Everything else was permanent and could not be changed.  That is great for keeping it simple, on-task, and relevant to the storyline you selected.

The final product is a nice big size too!
The final product is a nice size too.  You can see my youngest son looking through a finalized book in the picture above.

Turnaround time on these books is fast!  The quality of the pictures and words is sublime, and it is a most excellent resource for helping children with challenging transitions, or for just helping them enjoy what they already have in their lives.

This sounds like a great option for those that need a little help and prefer not to come up with their own content.

This is great. We did this with potty training, when we brought baby brother home from the hospital, when we bought a new house and moved. Kids need to see that the world they live in is ok.

Since I am not much of a writer, I love that you can change a word or two of a prewritten story.

I have been trying to find a revelent story about a mommey needing to have surgery and I have had no such luck. I know she's confused of her emotions about why I'm so sick but I do think books are the way to go. I would love to find one out there that says mommy needs to have a hitial hernia repair and gallbladdder removal and that's why mommies so exhausted lately. if you find any let me know. ~amanda Ripsam
