Ideals Books (Review and Giveaway!)

Disclosure: I received the two books discussed for review purposes.  All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

In his jammies, reading a nighttime story to me. :)

Ideals Books is one of my favorite places to look for children's books. They offer a great selection of them, through a very easy-to-navigate website. If you are looking for inspirational titles for your child, new releases, award-winning books, and/or old favorites, Ideals Books is a good one-stop shop.  They also have great holiday selections. I think we may pick up Peter Rabbit for our youngest child's Easter Basket this year.

For review purposes we were sent two books.

Bob & Larry's
Book of Prayers

The first was Bob & Larry's Book of Prayers, which is a Veggie Tales selection. My son is a long-time fan of the Veggie Tales movies, but this is his first book from the series.  It's broken down nicely into sections, and each night we read a section of the prayers before he goes to sleep. Last night (our second time through the book) we read the 'praise' section.

There is a verse of scripture for each section, and then prayers the kids can say that are related to it.  The words are easy enough that my son can read most of them, and he already knows and loves the characters.

The second book we reviewed was Must-Have Marvin! by Christy Ziglar.

Must-Have Marvin!
by Christy Zigler

This book was BIG, and it held a good message, in easy-to-read words, about a boy who 'had to have new things!' learning that while new things are nice, they're not the be-all to end-all. The pictures in the book were well drawn, and the pages showed kids doing things kids love to do (like playing a ball game, collecting box tops for the school, or practicing in the Band classroom).  That made the storyline easy to relate to for my little one.

My son enjoyed both books, as I suspected he would.

You can see both of the titles reviewed in the new Spring catalog Ideals Books is going to put out, and that can be found here: http://www.solutionsbyaim.com/flipbook/guideposts/ideals_pub_spring14/

You can also learn more about Ideals Books by visiting their website, and/or following them on Facebook.

Two books are being given away (one of each of those reviewed above).  Enter to win one, or enter to win both!!  US entrants only.  Both Rafflecopter forms are below.

  11. These sound great. We love to read.

To answer your question - no, Francie has never been ridden. When I rescued her, she didn't even know how to lead. She had never had any vaccines, or had her feet picked or trimmed. I had to start with her from scratch. It'll be interesting, the day I get on her. But she's doing so great.
