What is the two shields there. Trying to make it out, but just not sure. Guess back in the day they needed to feel safe maybe when it was built that's why it's so huge. I thought they had guards outside the gate.
That trip was before I started a blog, but it would have been great for me and my family to meet up with you for a hello in person! London is my husband's most favorite place to visit, hands down, ever. :) You live in a great place!
That's my husband, but it was six or seven years ago. :) LOL, I don't know where my share buttons are, hahahaa. I used them today, so maybe only I can see them? :)
That sure is a gate ... and a huge gate at that. I wonder how many men and boys it takes to open it by hand? I am sure it is controlled electrically these days.
It didn't open when we were there. I don't think the queen was there either because there were only two guards outside. It's been awhile, but I think I read if there are two outside the front door, that means the queen is not there. I do know they were in grey coats because it was cold and rainy. More often they are in red. :)
Meh, you all have seen his picture before. ;) KIDDING! And you totally made me laugh. My husband is giddy happy in that picture because he's totally head over heels about all things London. Even though that pic is a bit fuzzy, it's still one of my favorites of him (aforementioned reason being why). :)
That gate is huge AND ornate. (surprised Pat Hatt didn't say that.) I also learned that Steve as in Stevebethere only lives 10 minutes away. Small world! :)
I've always wanted to travel, especially to the UK. Now it is too late (for many reasons). But I enjoy looking at the pictures of other people's journeys, it almost makes me feel as though I went on the vacation with them. Thanks!
Holy crackers - where is that? It's the biggest gate I've ever seen!!
