Wordless Wednesday

I know lots of you are dealing with much of the same.
Lucky you to those who are not. :)
Day #3 of the kiddos being out of school due to the weather.
The 'after' picture of our cars when the storm was done.

What used to be a perfectly good mailbox
(seems ours gets knocked over at least once a year from something).

The inside of our window was frozen!

  1. I officially hate snow. I hate being stuck in the house because we get a ticket if we are caught driving. I hate winter. This weather is leaving me less than jolly lol.

  3. My goodness!!! I won't complain about the cold here in Louisiana. I do wish you could send some of that snow down here. If I have to have the cold, I'd like a little snow with it :) Stay warm!

    1. Stacy it's bone chilling! Because of the humidity, but I can't see how I'd operate under all that snow Rosey is getting either :)

  4. That is just insane!
I remember our vehicles looking like that when I went to visit the inlaws once in AZ. Crazy!

    Bundle up Rosey!

Summer home. Winter fly to an island somewhere. Life would be something eh :)

  5. That window is crazy! I've been through snow-pile-high winters in Iowa and Virginia, but I don't remember that kind of ice on the window. I bet the kids are loving not having school. :)

  6. Oh man, 3 days?? That's going to stink come time for them to get out at the end of the year.

  8. I am so over the cold and winter right now. Yesterday, it was so cold and windy that walking ten feet made my eyes burn just walking 10 feet. So, I am definitely dreaming of spring here now!

  9. OMG I don't mind snow but that's ridiculous hope your keeping as warm as possible, it has been on our news here :-)

Throws a snowball @ Rosey and leaves blog ;-)

  14. We are not experiencing anything like this. It's dry here and for the most part the sunshine has been out. The afternoon are short sleeve weather for many. It's chilly, but not freezing.

You all stay warm and have a great day. ☺

  15. Schools here closed too. We've had schools closed this long, but that was 35 years ago.

    1. 3 days, and they call the night before (so I don't have to hover over the morning news). Unheard of. It is pretty cold though!

  16. I remember one year the plow taking out our mailbox. Now we are lucky to see the plow go by our house.

    1. It doesn't usually go by ours, and the one time it did... lol. All's well that ends well though, I put it back together yesterday and it's fine. Not the case in years past when a car/truck/whatever has taken it out at the stick!

  17. Yuck is still the best word to describe that, thankfully we had lots of rain which got rid of much of it

    ReplyDelete
  18. I remember my . gamma 's mailbox getting crushed by a snow plow once a year at least. She had a guard thing put up around it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. I know the feeling. I work in a school and we had no kids yesterday but they are back today. But it is still so cold I wish I was at home lol

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oh my gosh- I cannot even imagine! I grew up in the desert so never experienced this type of cold! Good luck and stay warm.

  21. That stinks about your mailbox! If the Road Commission hit it, I think they'll replace it? Our mail just came for the first time since the snow today...I actually didn't even expect them since the roads still aren't clear, but it wasn't our usual person-this one had an SUV instead of just a car :-)

    1. When I thought the whole box was down (post and all) I did contact them just to ask, and was instantly told we're out of city boundaries and damage from plows is not their responsibility. I figured they'd say that, but thought I'd try. Turned out the post was still intact so putting it back together was easy. :)

We just got our mail today too, first time since the storm hit. Stay warm over that a'way. :) We're doing the same.

  22. We got some snow yesterday only about 2 inches, but you think people would know how to drive in it! So many wrecks. WOW! You have a lot of snow! And the window was frozen. Gosh, I hope you warm up soon! I bet your son loves the snow!

    ReplyDelete

    1. He does love the snow. All the kids do, but it's still too cold to go out. Maybe over the weekend. :)

And you're right, people can't drive in the snow. I am not so great at it either (though I know it, lol) and avoid it whenever I can!! :)

  23. Those pictures made me go brrrr.... I'm glad that I'm in a warmer climate. I can't stand cold!

  24. Our schools were closed for 2 days due to the cold it sucks!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Holy moly! We don't have the crazy snow that you got, but we did get bitterly cold. Luckily it's starting to warm up. Today the 20s felt down right balmy!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Holy smokes we only got a 1/2 inch and the frozen temps your snow is awe inspiring. Kudos to you for making it through the "storm"! My kids went back to school late today for the first time. I'm just thankful I get to be home with them when they are out.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yikes! I love snow but it is probably because we hardly get any up here in WA! Stay warm!

    ReplyDelete
  28. The window is crazy!!! We had 2 snow days and most schools around us are closed today too. We ended up with about 10 inches at my house.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Wow, you sure got a lot of snow! We got a ton last week, even though they only originally called for like 3 inches. Plus it's been crazy cold here!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Love that frozen shot. Our doors are frozen as well when we opened it yesterday morning.

    ReplyDelete
  31. It's been crazy cold here and we have tons of snow. -20 or -30 or -40 with wind chill. We are finally above 0 and at 12 degrees today. By the weekend we should see the 30s again.

    ReplyDelete
  32. What great shots! Are you getting as tired of winter as I am though? It's been super cold here and I'm ready to break up with winter. :)

  33. Wow, that's a lot of snow! We never get snow here in Las Palmas. But there is almost no snow in Estonia this year either.

    ReplyDelete
  34. EEK!!!!!!! That is just horrible! It's been around -10 with the windchill here in NJ, but hopefully will be warming up tomorrow!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow, and I'm complaining about 35 degrees

    ReplyDelete
  36. It looks about the same here in ND... between snow+ -50 wind chills I am SO OVER this winter.

  38. WOW, thankfully it has NOT been that cold here... I really hope it warms up for you there... for everyone... it has been bitter cold in the mid west... it is time for a little bit of a thaw soon :) Enjoy the rest of the week <3

  39. Luckily we only got a scattering of snow, but it has been colder here than anyone can remember! Stay warm!

  40. I could not function where is snows. My mind reels at the thought of living and driving in snowy places. So glad I'm down in Georgia! We're cold but thank goodness no snow ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh man that is insane! Your poor little mailbox!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Wow, frozen windows!!! You don't need to say a word, all you have to do is show us the photos. Be careful and stay safe, I hope the weather improves soon.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I know I am crazy, but I was born and raised in Florida and would love to have at least one year to see seasons change and deal with snow. Then I could decide which I prefer. Stay warm.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Wow that is crazy - I've been hearing bits from my friends over in the US about the storm and it seems horrid! I know a couple without water x

    ReplyDelete
  45. Snowplow vs mailbox? Or maybe just a sliding car. But I guess we know who lost that one.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Snowplow 1, mailbox 0. But it wasn't broken at the stick, so it went back together with ease (thank goodness, it's $50+ a pop to replace them when you must...and the frozen ground would make it hard to install).

  46. Brrrrrr! I grew up in Northwest Ontario, and I don't miss that snow and ice at all! We got down to about 19 degrees here in Virginia Beach, but that was all, thankfully. Stay safe!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Our snow was completely melted on Monday, snowed on Friday then gone Monday's weather was 55 degree so by the time the cold air hit on Tuesday the snow was gone

    ReplyDelete
  48. The snow I could take, but all of this ice has to go! Stay warm.

    ReplyDelete
  49. So sorry about your mailbox! The weather has really been crazy lately.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yes, my house looks almost identical to that and we just got word that the kids are off school again tomorrow! They have yet to return after Christmas break!

  56. Happy New Year Rosey! I hope you're all ok. We keep hearing about the extreme weather in the US. Italy and the top of France have had odd weather too and we may be getting snow in the UK next week. We are so unprepared for it here and everything grinds to a halt, it's silly when you guys have it bad. Take care. x

  57. Not out totally but delayed start 2 days in a row. I must admit I was okay with getting to sleep in and be a little late to work with a valid reason :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. stay warm it is cold here but not like that

    ReplyDelete
  59. I feel like I am a little lucky because I did not have to deal with that much snow. The biggest storm we got as just 3 inches.. I can handle 3 inches! It'll all be melted by this weekend with our 50 degrees forecast! I hope you are warming up too!

    ReplyDelete
  60. You got slammed with snow and ice! We didn't get a whole lot here. I hope you have a warm up soon. But...then the snow will melt, freeze back up, and make more ice. YIKES! Stay safe!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Wow, that's pretty cold for the INSIDE of your window to freeze! I won't complain any more about our cold snap - we had no snow or ice, thankfully. Thanks for sharing at Tales of a Pee Dee Mama.

  64. We've been dealing with much of the same here in NYC. The only difference is that they hardly ever close the schools here.

    ReplyDelete
  65. wowwwwwwwww. That is totally Minnesota-weather worthy and while I can post pictures that are similar, reading where you are makes me amazed. Hope everything gets back to normal soon...........

  66. Snow sucks...living in New Brunswick, Canada....we get a lot of the dreadful white stuff. Although staying in & watching a movie with a hot chocolate is a nice way to deal with Winter

  67. stay warm my sweet friend. Thank you so much for helping to make the Thursday Favorite Things blog hop so much fun Hugs!

  68. Wow! Last Wednesday we had a two hour delay for "too cold", that was new for us and that was two days in a row. I was so glad it didn't rain, that would have been very bad. The rain came and went before temp dropped so we didn't have any ice to deal with.

    ReplyDelete
  69. all we are getting is ICE - broxton wants snow so bad he just keeps looking out the window - its breaking my heart.
hope we get a little snow tonight.
