Proactive Ways to Be Heart Healthy! (with $100 American Express Giveaway)

Heart problems are no laughing matter, and heart disease runs on both sides of our family. Outside of (mostly) healthy eating, I admittedly do not do enough to be proactive in this area. My husband on the other hand, takes every precaution he can think of to help lower his chances of having a heart incident. One of the ways he helps combat such an occurrence is through supplements.

It is a rare day when you'll open his medicine cabinet and find that it does not have an Omega 3 supplement of some type, and a bottle of Coenzyme Q10, both of which are known to help aid in heart health.  And he is diligent about taking them, making sure they are the first thing that he packs even if we are going on vacation or a small trip.  I applaud his consistency and his proactive measures.

This holiday season, to tease him a little, I've purchased a bottle of Krill Oil (another Omega 3 supplement) to put in his stocking.  I know he'll laugh, but he'll be reading the label before he even gets through opening his gifts, I guarantee it. And it'll make him happy.  Little gifts that let the person know you know them through and through, are fun. If they offer a little good-natured teasing too, well, that's a big bonus at our place. ;)

  8. Awesome giveaway and great post. While the teasing is great, a gift that says "I want you to be around for a long, long time" is even better!

  9. I really should invest in this for our health too.
It's good that your husband take this very seriously.

My only problem is that my throat seems to lock up with pills.
    I wish everything was a chewable :)

  11. I admit, while I exercise regularly, I don't take any beneficial supplements. My husband, on the other hand, is a lot like yours and takes them daily.
