Sick in Layers (really!)

Have you ever been sick in layers?  I don't think I have, until now.

It started a few days ago with the sneezes. I never get the sneezes, but we had a new item that was a gift from someone and I thought it was making me sneeze (because I was sneezing a lot!).

That was all that was wrong. Then my eyes started getting watery (oh people with allergies, your woes are now easier to relate to and I feel for ya!).

The sneezing and watery eyes stopped and the coughing started. That's all that was wrong...coughing. It got so bad last night that I went to sleep on the couch so hubby could get some sleep.  He said he didn't hear anything at all, but that's probably because I left the room entirely. ;)

Today I'm not coughing but my nose is stuffy.  Nothing else, just a stuffy nose.

It's got to be all related, but I'm getting sick in layers.

I'm not complaining...with only one thing wrong at a time I can be up and about doing what I need to do.  All at once would slow me down.  But layers...who knew! Ever had it happen to you that way?

  4. I am sorry that you have been sick, I hope you start feeling better soon. When I get sick with a cold it always turns to bronchitis! Every since I was little, I have had terrible problems when I get sick. I hope that I do not get sick this year!

    1. I don't feel so bad, just surprised it's coming in bits and parts instead of a big whollop. :) Not that I'm complaining, mind you! :)

And I will hope alongside you that you don't get sick this year either!

  8. So sorry you are sick Rosey and hoping you feel better real soon. That is how it happened this time for me, too and felt a different symptom each day and still trying to get over this 100% now, too.

I don't remember in layers at all, but yes, it's easier it would seem. Just please be careful.

  13. Sorry to hear you're sick, poor thing! I have felt "off" for a few days, going on a week. The other day I "just didn't care". When I get feeling like I "just don't care", I know there is some type of "bug" going through me, and my body is just deciding what to do with it. Didn't even put up a blog post through most of the week because of it...

    Get better!

  14. That's quite strange, but it sure seems your body is reacting negatively to something around you, and maybe isn't quite sure how to react. Hopefully it'll all soon go away, but it might not be a bad idea to take note of anything new or different that you've been exposed to lately, in case these symptoms return.

  15. All the time! But due to my ulcerative colitis, my illnesses are always wacky like that. I hope you are back to 100% soon!

  16. I have been sick too but I can't get past the coughing. My husband's coughing was so bad that he sat on the heating pad today because he hurt his back. Here is hoping that you pass this last layer and there aren't any more!

  20. Huh, I've never had layers like that. Do you think it's allergies? I hope you feel better:)

  21. I have bad allergies, so I know all about the watery, itchy eyes. I don't think I've ever been sick in layers like that. I wonder if it's from different causes? Well, I hope you feel better soon. Being sick is never any fun, in layers, or otherwise. =0)

  22. I definitely think I have at some point had "layers" when getting sick, but have been blessed and really I have to say that I have not been sick much at all lately.... I cannot complain.... and I want to say I feel for ya. But good thing you are not feeling it all at once.... that would be a bit much, at least this way you can still function. Great post!

  24. Feel better soon! I sneeze all the time so that usually doesn't mean I"m sick but I have gotten a sore throat that turns into a cold or something worse.

  25. Usually when I get sick in layers, it ends up Bronchitis. Haven't had it in awhile and knock on wood, I don't want it. Get better soon
