Novica Review & Giveaway

Disclosure: I have received a product to help facilitate my review. All opinions stated are genuine and my own.

You may have heard of Novica, a National Geographic affiliated fashion and home décor website that offers over 30,000 handmade goods from around the globe. Novica guarantees that each of their handmade-only items goes through a certification program to guarantee 100% premium quality. In addition, Novica practices free trade and as such they never charge artists a fee to list their items. To date, artisans around the world have earned over $46 million from Novica in an effort to help preserve the arts.

In an effort to celebrate the relaunching of their website, Novica is offering one Mail4Rosey reader a $25 gift code to spend on anything listed on their website.  They have many great items and categories, including:

Take a look around the site, see what you like, and don't forget there are some pretty big holidays coming up as well. When I was looking around the website, I came across these Lacquered Wood Boxes shaped like apples and painted with a pretty floral print, and they come with the gift wrap (a pair of 2). I thought these would be a great idea for a gift for my daughter's favorite teacher at her high school.

I'm also fairly certain the beaded bag above me wants me to take it to Hawaii! (hey, a girl can dream)!

And I know one of my closest friends, who has a love of all things train, would love to have this on display in her office, or in her home.

There are wonderful items for anyone you know on the website, including yourself, and the more you look around, the more amazed you become. Novica is definitely a site to remember.

You can learn more about Novica by visiting their website here: http://www.novica.com/
You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Pinterest.

Novica has delivery to many places around the globe. Giveaway is good to wherever they deliver, please refer to website for applicable locations.

  29. How many ways do I love NOVICA? Let's see well there are currently OVER 600 items on my Novica Wish List... (and I haven't even updated very recently!) Sooo - where to begin? (I just received my most recent order including Necklaces by both Nareerat and Danai (both of Thailand) a wonderful Shoulder Bag by the UMBVS Desert Weavers of India and two Metal Wall Sculptures by J. Blas (Mexico)

For my next purchase I want to find a special gift for my 91 year old Mom. I'ved decided on giving her a Wood Sculpture/Statuette capturing that very special, unique and eternal bond between mother and child. The problem is I've found quite a few that I REALLY love!

    Among the top contenders:

"A Mother's Love" and/or "Mothers' Love" sculptures by Wayan Rendah OR "Moment of Tenderness" by Mada Wirata - both of Bali/Java. Got to hurry though as I want to order my final choice in time be able to take it out to her ion Montana for Thanksgiving.

    Thanks for the great giveway.

  65. Just came across this site while looking for a Novica gift. I saw the apple boxes with your idea to give them to a teacher. Please Don't! That is the last gift teachers want. Do the math. Every year, every holiday, a certain percentage of students give you apple themed items. Now, muliply that by 5, 10, 20, 30 years as a teacher. Most of these items are given away (they cannot be re-gifted because everyone would know they didn't buy it, that one of their students gave it to them), shoved in a drawer or closet, never to see the light of day again, or eventually given to Grandma or the Goodwill. Teachers like the same things as everyone else. Gift cards! Stores, places to go, things to do. Starbucks, Sports stores, Target & Walmart cards are great and are often used on classroom supplies, décor etc. Bath & Body lotions & creams (for dry hands), Restaurants, Grocery Store & Drugstore, Movie tickets. The list is endless. If you think giving a gift card isn't very fun, or it's a boring gift, just think what a boring gift any apple item is. Present the gift in a unique or fun way! Like in an apple box! Or apple themed paper, lol. The ideas are endless. Just remember the gift should be something the receiver would like NOT what you think they should like. And, if you don't care what they like, don't bother buying them anything. We can tell. :) If money is tight and you want to do something because you love your child's teacher, homemade items are great. Baked goods (breads, sweet bread loaves, ie: banana, lemon, etc), craft projects (knit scarves, kitchen tea towels, potholders, a box of homemade stamped cards for birthdays, holidays, thank you, get well, sympathy (this was a great gift). The ideas are endless. There is no reason to get apple related gifts after your first Christmas as a teacher........and even then, most teachers wouldn't want them. Just a suggestion to all parents who may be contemplating a gift for a teacher in your life.
