My Kids & My Camera

I'm not particular with my camera, not when it's nice and not when it's the point-and-shoot I'm still using from the summer (when my other camera broke on vacation).  That doesn't mean I don't expect my family members to treat my camera (or anything else of mine that they're using) with respect, because I most certainly do! It just means I let the kids pick it up and use it whenever they feel the need.

Selfies in the bathroom when you are a teen seem to be standard.
It's fun (really!) to pick up the camera and find pictures on it that I didn't know were there.  Like the selfie my daughter took of her makeup in the bathroom (of course it was in the bathroom, the older kids always take their picture in the bathroom these days, lol).  I think she did a great job trying her hand at the Halloween makeup.

That box in the back is colored red and has "LEGO" written all over it in crayon.
My son's special touches to the 'LEGO station' in his room. ;)
Our youngest is a LEGO nut. He just loves them, so to encourage his hobby we put a table in his room that we've had in the garage since we moved here. That's his new Lego Station, and my feet have thanked me for this idea a million times since (if you've got a Lego Kid you're nodding in instant understanding...those things really do hurt when you step on them).

Anyway, I found half a dozen pictures of LEGO creations on my camera too. Evidently at some point today (they were not on there last night), little man decided to take pictures of what he was building. He must have done this sometime between my doing laundry and cleaning up breakfast dishes.

Kid perspectives are fun. I like to pick up the camera and find new things.

And that being said, I'd better get moving. The second to last game of the soccer season is today.

Here's a picture of the road in front of our house this morning. It's wet and rainy out there! And yes, that is my front yard. *sigh* Time to rake...but not today, everything's all wet!  We'll see if the game gets cancelled. I suspect it will not.

Have a great Saturday, everyone!

  4. I do not know what the appeal is for teenage girls and selfie pics in the bathroom. I understand the selfie pic craze. IPhones and IPods have made it possible for you to take a decent pic of yourself. But why the bathroom???? That is what boggles my mind...

    Agreed about the legos. Ouch.

And you have a HUGE yard. Someone has a major raking job because it appears every leaf in the neighborhood fell into your yard!

    1. I think it's the mirror that appeals to them.

The backyard is pretty big and going to take a whole entire day to rake on its own. It's still wet and rainy though, so I'm off the hook for right this second. ;)

  21. I don't see it...I don't see it...I don't see the "For Rent for Fall Portraits" sign I suggested you put on your front yard, lol...all those leaves!!! My little one would love that so much...even if we had to give him his allergy med right away! Your daughter looks beautiful by the way! I think we all know how other people's bathrooms look thanks to these "lavatory selfies" lol

    1. Lavatory selfies are so ridiculous. My daughter was taking one once at school and her friend in the stall behind her climbed up to be in the picture. Silly girls (but I did laugh at that one). :)

No sign...weirdos might come, Lizy!! :)

My boy likes jumping in the leaves too. :)

I love finding new photos on the camera also. The personalities show through in wha the kids take. As long as they aren't holding it over water :)

    Hope soccer went well!
