Lemons and Lavender (review & giveaway)

Lemons and Lavendar: The eco guide to better homekeeping by Billie Sharp is a book that is chock full of 'ideas for healthy, happy, and fabulously frugal homekeeping.' There are seven chapters, and 260 pages. It is a softcover book.

Inside of it you will find so many fabulous ideas on things that affect you, your lifestyle, your family, and your home (inside and out).

There are remedies for homemade, safe detox items such as skin detox, a sea salt scrub, and a sea salt bath.

There are crafts!! Crafts ideas for stenciling, screenprinting, and easy decoupage.

Kitchen cleaning tips? Yep, this book's got those too, from natural cleaning on wood floors, to Mother Nature's Mold treatment (we used this in our bathroom and it was WAY more effective and far safer than the bleach solution we'd been using), and Eco-Deco furniture polish.

There is a recipe for homemade Eco-Paint, tips on air purifying plants, and a ton of tips for those of us who like to grow some of our food!

There are recipes (including those that are garden-to-table), the Simple Bean Soup one is on my To-Do list, so is the Macro Rice Salad.

There are tips on things to do and decorations to make for holidays, such as Toffee Apples and Pecan Pie for Halloween and Thanksgiving, Latkes (potato pancakes) for Hanukkah, and Mince Pie for Christmas.

And these things I've mentioned are really only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to fun, useful, and/or practical things to do, make, or participate in around the house. This book covers most anything you could dream of, and it does all frugally and responsibly.

It's one of those books you come across and are so glad to have found!! I saw it at Terry's blog first, and was delighted when a rep contacted me to see if I would like to review it too!!! I've also seen it at Lisa's place, so if you're interested after reading my review, don't forget to visit Terry and Lisa's reviews too, to get an even better perspective!

You can purchase this book from Cleis Press or Viva Editions. It is also available on Amazon where it got stellar ratings from other readers. You can find Viva Editions on Facebook and/or Twitter.

Don't forget the holidays. I am guessing you know someone who would love this book as a gift.

Lemons and Lavender gets two thumbs up from me, and kudos to author Billie Sharp for taking the time out to write such a comprehensive, useful, and very interesting book.

One lucky winner is going to get one of their own. Enter on the Raffelcopter form below. US entrants only.
