Fall Boots: My Weakness Made Public

Warning: This is a shallow, ridiculous, frivolous post, and ooh how I loved writing it.  :)

Source

Anyone who knows me, knows I have a weakness for boots. Fall boots, in particular, are my favorite. I love tall boots, mid-sized boots, booties... I love various heights of a heel, including flats. I even love rain boots.

Source

I don't love Kitten Heels (I'm a little on the tall side so the delicate heel looks ridiculous on me).

I don't love Wedge Heels. I know they've been all the rage, but I didn't like them when they were in style a bazillion years ago, and I still don't like them now that they've made their way back around.

Source

That being said, I've just wasted a ridiculous amount of time on Pinterest when I was supposed to be writing something, pinning boots.  There, I said it...out loud (sort of).

Source

I know it's a frivolous, material addiction, and if I had to live without boots, I could easily do it (I think). ;)

At the beginning of the summer my daughter and I went through my closets to see what I should get rid of. She was there to snag things she deemed worthy for her closet. ;) Let me tell you how humbling it was to have a classic business suit that never ever goes out of style, be held my teen daughter with disdain right before she uttered the words, "Ew! This is so old fashioned!"

We donated a lot of things including five or six pairs of boots in perfect condition that I haven't worn in years. I don't regret donating the boots, but I am still surprised I felt compelled to do so (cuz like I said... boots are my thing).

I think these are my favorite. I love every single thing about them.

I also want to note that with this last child my husband and I decided I would be a stay-at-home mom with him. That was a big downgrade in salary for us (going from two FT salaries to one), and boots are expensive. I don't get money from my hubby for things like clothes, hair, makeup, etc. Not for me, or for the kids... I write to do that (writing is not my passion, I'm just doing it to pay the bills for now, and I'm not talking about the blog...but if you are a hobby blogger like me, you already knew that ;) ).  I would never dream of asking him for boots. BUT, I've got the itch for a new pair... I think my last purchase was six years ago.  Who needs them when you're at home wearing jeans or sweatpants?  But Six Years! That even sounds bleak.

Source

When I go back to work, the first thing I'm getting is a car (I haven't gotten a new one of those since I quit working either, lol). The second thing I'm buying... boots. ;)

Those with a boot addiction will understand.  My name is Mail4Rosey... and I have a boot addiction.

Those who don't, will think my post is silly.  That's okay too. :)

Source

A big thank you to Pinterest, for harboring the boots I want.  All 9 bazillion pairs of them. :D

I think sometimes it's okay to just like something because you like it.

What's your weakness?? My other one is travel, but ya'll prolly knew that. ;)

  1. Clothes, boots, beauty and fashion are all my passions. Lie you I gave them all up when I decided to be a stay at home mom, but have recently found a few ways around this and am even going to post about it later this week. So with you on this and how I have missed shopping so very much!!

    1. I miss work sometimes. I don't miss it as much as I'd have missed being home with my little guy. This time has been VERY precious to me (even w/o new boots, or fancy haircuts). :)

Thanks for stopping over to visit!

  4. I've had quite a few pairs of boots in my life. Would you believe a pair of high heel white go-go boots that laced all the way up the front? A pair of high heeled black ones with a spiffy strap and buckle at the top. (Knee-high, like the go-go boots, which, by the way, went-went a long time ago.)I called the black ones my "motorcycle" boots, although I am NOT a cycle rider. (The one time I tried to ride one, I panicked when I couldn't remember how to stop it, and ran into the side of my ol' 1968 station wagon... but it stopped!) Of all the boots you showed, I LOVE the red ones. I've got a real thing for red shoes of any kind.

    1. I can totally see you rocking GO Go Boots!! I (still) think they're cool looking. I've never owned a pair though. :) They remind me of Goldie Hawn for some reason, but I'm not sure why? OR maybe my mind's thinking of Twiggy, lol, who did NOT look like Goldie Hawn. Sheesh, never mind me, I'll stop rambling now.

  9. I have a weakness too. Cheap game sales on Steam.

I have over 100 of them, and I have barely scratched the surface. I just bought them because they were anywhere from 50 to 85% off.

  12. Hmmm how can people have 50 pairs of shoes or boots and think it is practical? one for each day of the year? Maybe I should get 365 pairs of socks, never have to wash for a whole year lol but 6 years is a long time I suppose. The cat will have to use the obsessed boot pinner somewher along the way.

  20. Great pics. that you've posted from Pinterest here. I could never were those spike heeled boots. But I did find a comfy pair of Clarks boots last year that are comfy and pretty stylish too. I wore them the entire day and my feet didn't bother me. (I guess these are the little victories I celebrate as i get older...lol!)

    1. That's where I wore them (Florida) but only because I was inside all day working with A/C. ;)

In Michigan there's a short window...you can't wear them in the summer because it's too hot, and in the winter they'll get ruined. Fall's the season here, and it's coming (a good reason for boots, which is probably why they're on my mind). :)

  24. Hey I could have written this post - right down to the favorite pair! I haven't bought books in a long time. No only do I not need to wear "at home" but we don't have your kind of weather. People where them anyway - calves sweatin' and all. Anyway, I'm itching for a new pair. There seems to be no such thing as a nice pair under a $100. I bought the cutest "snow" (waterproof) boots about three years ago AFTER we had a "big" snow. It hasn't snowed since and I haven't been able to wear them. :-(

I'm thinking a big, comfy resort in Colorado for the weekend, with a huge, cozy fireplace and plate window to see the scenery. K...I'm done dreaming now about how you can use your snow boots, hahahah See boots are INSPIRING! ;)

  28. I'm not really a footwear person. The boots that I wear the most often are really ugly snow boots, because they are warm, and that is more important than looks to me when you live somewhere as cold as I do. I do kind of have a thing for clothes, though. And clothes for Elliott even more than clothes for me.
