That's How Monday's Roll

Just a little word play since the thunder's rolling outside. I like an early morning thunderstorm, but I bet the people rushing to work right now might not agree.

Sharp lightening, I'm not a fan of, but the thunder sound is pretty amazing. I miss the rolling belly thunder from when we lived down south. Those were intense, complete storms, and I totally took them for granted.

I've got the windows on the backside of the house open, and it smells good when it's raining. We're overdue, so my flowers will be happy today. :)  Wishing you all a happy start to the new week.

  4. It's going to rain here today as well. I love a good rain shower and even a strong storm if the weather doesn't turn severe. I especially love it when it rains at night. One of the best times is when it's really hot out and you can feel the rain in the air, I love that smell right before the rain breaks through :)
    Happy Monday!

  8. Hope you have a great Monday, as well. That's just another thing I love about Florida....the storms come and then go pretty quickly. Up in Kentucky, they'd linger for days and really make it dreary.

  9. I LOVE a good thunderstorm. Deep rumbling roar, splashy flashes of light, and huge overhead booms. They're exciting, and really get the adrenaline pumping, because they have a tinge of flirting-with-danger kinda feeling to them. I love when it hails, too. Delicate little pea-sized hail that bounces merrily, not those big ragged hunkers that make dents in the car.

    1. Hail does have that little element of surprise to it!! Always!

  10. We were at the beach recently and my husband had already gone down and camped out under the umbrella. The kids and I were going to join him when two sharp boom rang out. I thought they must have been sonic booms. Well, looked out and everyone was scurrying off the beach. It was a morning thunderstorm. I do love a good rain. I just have a healthy respect for lightening.

  11. We'll see rain about November or December if we are lucky. We could sure use some of that rain. I too love to watch it rain and hear the thunder roll through. Relaxing indeed.

  14. I love the smell of rain and I LOVE thunder. For some reason I never get storms directly over my home but I can hear thunder in the distance when a storm rolls on through. I'd love to hear a boom so loud my house shakes but the thunder Gods like to keep a little dome over my house it seems.

  16. I'm with you - I like the thunder but not the lightning! Summer thunderstorms are the best, especially when you're at home and can take a little cat nap. Nothing better than falling asleep to the sound of rain!

  18. We have been having a bit of lightning and thunder these days Rosey. I don't mind it if it is not too bad. We welcome the thunder showers these days due to a bad drought. Now that we have purchased a truckload of water we are getting rain and more predicted this week! I have the habit of listening to the rain and keeping awake when I am in bed!:) Enjoy the rest of your Monday.

Being thankful for Thunderstorms. The other day I was on the phone with my 1dd and it started to rain here and I could SMELL the rain. I had to pause in our conversation and let her know I could smell the rain. She laughed and said, "You've always loved the smell of rain, Mom!" I am glad she knows that. Awh ~

  29. Glad you are enjoying the thunderstorm. I usually love them, but this summer has been the rainiest yet. Frankly, I am sick of the rain and thunderstorms. None of my flowers made it this year because the roots drowned from all the rain. $200 down the drain :(
