Court Yard Hounds (Amelita CD)

Disclosure: I received an album download  from One2One Network to help facilitate the review. No other form of compensation took place. All opinions stated are my own.

Court Yard Hounds, you may know them better at this point as the founders of the Dixie Chicks, have a sophomore CD release called Amelita. While I am familiar with a couple of the Dixie Chicks songs, I hadn't heard this duet sing until now. They have a distinct country sound to me.

"Rock All Night" was an upbeat tune my son danced all over the room to; "Gets You Down" was slower, almost a little folksy; and "Watch Your Step" was an upbeat country sound that definitely had a little bit of blue-sy undertone to it. I also heard a touch of bluegrass throughout a good number of the tracks.

There were a couple of soulful tunes, but for the most part the songs were upbeat and positive, and the harmony with the sisters was spot-on. If you like to dance, and you like a country feel to your music, chances are high you're going to like the new album.

You can purchase Court Yard Hounds sophomore release Amelita on iTunes or Amazon.
