One-half Arts & Crafts, One-half Construction, 100% Fun! That's the motto of BENDASTIX, a brand new (not even sold in stores yet) kit that is being reviewed here. Recommended for ages 6+ this bendable, easy-to-mold (but not break) craft kit provides hours of fun for the kids. With easy to maneuver pieces, a book of ideas, and endless options for creativity, this kit was a huge hit in our house.
We've had the box in the house for a week or so, and every day my son asked to open it up. Yesterday I agreed and he and I set out to see what we could make.
We made robots, flowers, spiders, and even a candy cane on a hook (to hang on the mantle, of course). I thought he did pretty great for a 5-yr.-old, and we had a ton of fun doing it. When were done, he decided to grab a spare blanket from the linen closet, drag his cash register out of his toy box, and set up shop. He put all of his creations out on display [on the 'fancy' blanket-covered coffee table (lol!)], and he put a price tag on everything. He then equipped me with change from his piggy bank and I got to go shopping. ;)

that were 'for sale' in his 'store.'
My son liked the BENDASTIX because they were easy to navigate and use for creating things, and I liked them because they were durable (they got a lot of bending with our activities and are still all in perfect shape), and allowed us to use our imagination in ways we don't get to all of the time.
There are a lot of suggestions that come with the kit too. Kids can create shoe decorations, head bands, pretties for their hair, a super cool dune buggy, and so on and so forth. Once they're done with their creations, they can easily disassemble them and start fresh with new ideas.
The BENDASTIX will be available to the public in mid-July (2013), and there will be a variety of kit types available, including the Big Box Kit pictured above.
You can learn more about BENDASTIX by following them on Facebook and/or subscribing to their YouTube page.
One lucky Mail4Rosey reader is going to win a Big Box BENDASTIX kit like the one we reviewed above.
