The Camera Broke WHEN???

Who has a camera that breaks right at the beginning of a boat ride along the beautiful shoreline of Chicago... at sunset?  That would be me.

We'll be home tomorrow, but I wish we never had to leave (or at least not until cold weather returns). I love, love, love this city!  First thing on the agenda this morning...a new camera. ;) Then I'm crossing the street to get a bagel from Einstein's. Oh, how I miss having an Einstein's close to home. :)

    1. We've had TracPhones for a bazillion years. Usually I like paying $20 every few months and still having the security of the phone, but now that you mentioned it, I could have sure used a fancy phone that night. :)

  11. I used to love Chicago. Always went there often in the old days. I'm such a child of the depression, I always carry a spare camera. LOL
    Keep having fun.

  14. What a pity to lose your camera at a time like that.

  15. How frustrating. Most people use their phones to take pictures. I can't figure out how to get them off my phone, so I don't. But I am an exception to the rule.

  16. I love that city. I was stuck in Venezuela once for ten days because of a strike and was stuck eating peanut butter out of a jar the entire time. My first stop back in the US was Chicago, I swear my first real meal was the best I've ever tasted.

  28. Those kind of things always happen at the most inopportune time!

  29. Oooh that sucks! I have had similar experience with camera. Not breaking but we were using the film roll (this was back in Godzilla time where digital camera was an alien) and we happily took pictures the whole day. When we wanted to develop the film, it didn't hook in the right place so it didn't roll whenever we clicked to take photos. So basically we were taking pictures of nothing ha ha... T_T

    1. Oh my gosh Maria, I think of your dad all of the time. It's so hard when someone's struggling that we love. I know it first hand from not long ago at all. We had a very happy ending and I'm hoping that for you all too!

  36. Sorry to hear about your camera. My husband has broken two different ones when we were on vacation. One time my husband put the camera in a weird pocket, and then put his pants in the dirty laundry, and my mom washed it (yeah, my mom totally still does my laundry, along with my husband's and my son's when we are at her house, even though I'm 30...she does it before my husband and I feel like we have a full load). The other time he dropped it.

  37. I don't have the breaking camera problem. I have the "forgot to put film (now SD card) in the camera, so I have absolutely no pictures." Yep, that's me.
And I totally agree - I would love to spend the summer in Chicago.
