I can create a meal for under five bucks. Back in the day when I was a single-mom with 4 hungry mouths to feed & not much $ my kids liked hotdogs & they also liked macaroni & cheese. Dogs - 99 cents - Mac&cheese - 29 cents at Aldi's (back then). Also a dozen eggs was 99 cents. I sliced the dogs (like quarters) fried in spray butter, made scramble eggs and when they were just about done I poured the mac & cheese (already put together) into it. The kids loved it. I called it "Mommy Surprise"! My daughter now makes it for her kids! and it cost to feed 5 of us a whopping $2.27
