Today is 'Hat Day' at the school. If the kids at the elementary school bring in $1 for a charity event, they get to wear a hat all day.
My son has a Spiderman hat that he loves to wear, and that's the one he selected for today.
He was so excited about it that he sat out his own clothes last night, a Spiderman shirt, pants w/Spidey on them (even though they're not school pants, I okay'd them this once), and his hat.
This morning after his shower he wanted to get dressed himself. That's a first, usually he wants to dawdle in the morning, so of course I let him.
He did a GREAT job!
Then we got in the car and were driving. I turned around to say something to him, and saw this:
Bwuahahahhahahahahahahhaa...he got dressed perfectly fine, but he got mix-matched socks from the sock basket instead of a matching pair from his chest-of-drawers.
That's funny stuff. :)
He's a cutie pie and I laughed out loud when I saw the photo of him with the miss matched socks. All kids do that. I love it.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend. ☺
Thanks, Sandee. Kids make even getting dressed funny. ;)
DeleteLOL... how cute he looks in that hat Rosie. Could he be color blind or does he just not care if his socks match.
ReplyDeleteHe didn't give a hoot if his socks matched or not, he just wanted to hit the road so he could get to school w/that hat, lol.
DeleteHe looks so cute in his hat! The mismatched socks is funny. A day or so ago, my son, 11, got on the bus with one white long sock and one ankle length sock. My husband only noticed as he was getting on the bus. Later when I picked him up, he had that long sock bunched around his ankle so it was hear to tell....but Geeze....you would think he would care about that! lol
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who's Junior wore two different colored socks on the first day of school, on purpose. lol
DeleteOh my...he is so cute and his eyes I think we'd all love to have....look at those lashes. His hat is just so cute and the socks...too funny. I use to leave my ex's socks when I got upset with him and he is colored blind so this happened with him every so often at a grown age...haha.
ReplyDeleteI've worn a navy pump and a black pump to work before and no one even noticed (including me) until the end of the day. :)
DeleteThat is funny! At least he dressed himself.
ReplyDeleteMica's speedy in the morning and Isaak's SLOW moving.
He was on full speed ahead this morning...he even told me to hurry up. ;)
DeleteYour son is adorable Rosey! All he needs to tell everyone is "I am making a fashion statement!" :) I wish you and your family a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Judy. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too. :)
DeleteSuper cute! My son is wearing Spiderman today too!
ReplyDeleteSpiderman rocks w/the young crowd. ;)
DeleteAww, that's adorable. He did a great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen. :)
DeleteHe looks so cute!
ReplyDeletewww.modernworld4.blogspot.com
Thank you, Gina. :)
DeleteSo cute! :) Love it.
ReplyDeleteHe's a silly one, Jen. Not even mildly perturbed about the sock situation. :)
DeleteLOL! Too funny! Reminds me of my little guy. He's gone to school with his pants AND his shirt on backwards before and he ALWAYS puts his boots/shoes on the wrongs feet...doesn't bother him a bit ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe've had the wrong feet thing, in fact, I think I put them on the wrong feet once, lol.
DeleteWhat a happy story - love it! He is a CUTIE! sandie
ReplyDeleteI told him he looked like a gangster in the hat... he informed me that he doesn't want to look like a gangster! I guess that's a good thing. ;)
DeleteToo cute lol - my brother did that till he was in his 30's - honestly!!!
ReplyDeleteSaid he didn't get the need to have everything all matchy matchy lmho
Have a great weekend
( and that is one cool spiderman hat )
XOX
The fashion industry would run amuck if boys were allowed to just run wild. ;)
DeleteIf I had a hat like that hat, I'd want to wear it all day long. I'd probably even try to sleep in it.
ReplyDeleteLove the socks. That's individuality and uniqueness.
He sure likes that hat, Chuck. :) Let's hope he doesn't try to sleep in it (I don't put these things past him, you know). ;)
DeleteA big spiderman fan indeed. And LOL at the socks, at least he's original.
ReplyDeleteor in a big hurry. ;)
Deletethat is sooo adorable! he is cute!

$25 Sephora Gift Card Giveaway
Thanks, he's a sweetheart. :)
Deletehow cute is he?
ReplyDeletelove that they do that for charity...
I thought that was a good idea too, even better when I saw all of the kids who were wearing hats today. :)
DeleteThat is too adorable, and he really did a fabulous job! Heck, I've done the same thing with my socks when dressing whilst half asleep so we can't really fault your handsome wee guy, now can we?
ReplyDeleteI've worn two shoes that were the same, but a different color. Someone alerted me at the end of the work day, but no one had noticed until then (not even me). :)
DeleteI love this! Why is it when little boys put on hats they suddenly look a little older? How cute about the mismatched socks...he's a trendsetter!
ReplyDeleteAaaack, does he look older? I'm not even going to go back and look again. He's been getting way too big too fast lately. I like having a little one around again. :)
DeleteAdorable he is! Love the hat and the sox are perfectly wonderful ~ They sell mismatched socks ~ ^_^
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by and commenting ^_^
They do sell them, I've seen them. :) Thanks for stopping over this a'way. :)
DeleteHahahaha I love it! His hat is adorable and he looks so cute in it. Hat day was always so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThat's fun that you had hat day. We didn't do any of the theme things way back when I was a student. :)
DeleteHe's obviously a fashion leader! Cheers
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carole. :)
DeleteOh you are so cute! Yes, Theresa and I in our shoes can rock the joint, for sure. hahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteI love how schools motive the kids with fun little ideas of donations and privileges. Your sons is so adorable. (hug)
The school does get creative, I think it's fun. :)
DeleteI love that hat. He's part superhero, part dapper young gentleman. Clever idea from the school!
ReplyDeleteHe told me on the drive home this afternoon that it makes him feel like a scientist.
DeleteI think he's confused, but I didn't correct him because I'm not sure what he meant. Maybe he did mean scientist for all I know. lol
Cute hat...but love the socks! LOL
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteAwww, that's so funny. Socks can be tricky.
ReplyDeleteI never even thought to take a look, lol. :)
Deletehe did a great job!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks you. :) Loved your new grandbaby post. We have 19 days left here, woo hoo!
DeleteOMG this kid is adorable...look at those lashes!!!wow...Well he can wear a hat for sure! and he did an excellent job dressing himself...for some reason in my house the only person who wears matching socks is my hubs...for the rest of us, there's got to be a sock monster eating 1 of the socks, so I try to match then by color and at least we will be coordinated! Hugs, my friend, Lizy
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lizy. He didn't even match colors. Ah well, I doubt anyone noticed, and if they did I'm guessing they didn't care (I hope, lol)> :)

DeleteMy kids always have problems with socks also :) Love the hat!
ReplyDeleteWell at least we're in good company. :)
Deletehahaha nothing wrong with mismatched socks lol
ReplyDeleteLove his hat it's too cute!
Thanks, Ashley. :)
DeleteHe could probably care less about matching socks. My father-in=law owns a hat store, so this might have been a welcome project.
ReplyDeletehttp://joycelansky.blogspot.com
You are oh so correct, he did not mind in the slightest that he had mismatched socks. At least he GOT socks, lol. ;)
DeleteWhat a handsome young gentleman he is with his duded hat! But Rosey let me tell you something my 14 yr. old granddaughter told me when I said to her why are you wearing two different socks? That's in NaNee she says! I can't wear the same! I'd be an outcast! OH HEAVEN FORBID! And I handed her a very full bag (of my dust rags), which are all single socks, and told her to have at it! Her face lit up like it was Christmas! bwahahahahahahahahaha So, your little man is in fashion!!!
ReplyDeleteOne of the best things about kids is they're so easy to make happy. LOL at your granddaughter, that's awesome. :)
DeleteHe looks so cute in his hat!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. It's Saturday now and he's putting on his garb so we can play 'detective.' Of course the hat is paramount. ;)
DeleteLOL!!! I remember when my older son had to to do that and went to school in different shoes (same color)! I've beeen bumping into you a lot today :). If you an, stop by the Show Off Blog Party and post your favorite posts all weekend! I look forward to seeing you :)

DeleteSuper cute he is!!! Nothing wrong with mismatched socks!
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone even noticed. At least not enough to mention it. ;)
DeleteThat's awesome. I've been spending time with my almost five year old nephew taking care of my sis and he totally wears mismatched socks too. It's so cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the hat!!

Thanks. I hope all is going well with your sister. :)
DeleteGood job for a first time. I bet now you can trust him to do it more often.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't his first time getting dressed himself, just his first time wanting to do it before school.
DeleteUsually he is pokey in the morning and wants me to do everything for him. :)
Thanks for your visit!

Thanks, for having me. :)
DeleteI'm sorry but no one was looking at those feet with that adorable lid on his head, so no worries, Mama! ;)
ReplyDeleteProbably. :) I saw a boy in a cute golf beret that same day and if you asked me the color of his socks, I wouldn't have a clue. ;)
DeleteI'm with Rachel (commenter above). I would have missed the socks. He is handSOME - too cool for school!
ReplyDeleteSays the gal w/an awesomely cute son herself.
DeleteThanks, Kenya. :)
It's a sign of genius.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go with that, I like it. ;)
DeleteSo funny! I love it when the schools do things like this.....we have Wacky day at our school...so he would fit right in with those socks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining our Show Off Your Blog Party. I'm one of the co-host and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Thanks, Julia. My daughter has a Wacky Day and she loves it!
DeleteOur kids have hat day every time there is an early release day. They also pay $1 and all the money goes to the PTA.
ReplyDeleteThat's brilliant on the part of the PTA. :)
DeleteWould you believe I have caught my almost 15 year old in the same thing, no excuse there!
ReplyDeletelol I would believe it, I've had children that age too. :)
DeleteYour son is soo handsome! I LOVE his Spiderman hat! It's so different! And I lol at his two different socks...too cute! You have yourself a sweet little man! Xoxox
ReplyDeleteMaria
He is a sweetie, Maria, and that boy always makes us laugh, even if he's just getting ready for school. :)
DeleteToo cute:) My husband does that with his socks still!
ReplyDeleteLOL, Courtney! There's no hope then, I'm afraid. ;)
DeleteHe looks awfully cute. If my husband had his way, Elliott would only have two different styles of socks, long white ones for winter, and short white ones for summer. :) As it stands, Elliott is usually the sock matching helper, so he usually does a good job of matching socks. As long as I can convince him to put on clean socks in the morning, it's a win. :)
ReplyDeleteI have my little one help w/matching too. He was just in a big hurry because it was 'Hat Day,' lol. Your husband's on to something there (w/the two types of socks), I think... :)
DeleteMy girls actually mismatch their socks on purpose. So, maybe it wasn't an accident? lol.
ReplyDeleteHe's not trendy yet, so it wasn't a 'cool' thing but he did do it on purpose. He said he was in a hurry. I guess it was faster to raid the sock basket than go to his room and get a matched pair. Silly boy. :)
DeleteBoys! Lol! But he's looking cute and who knows it might put him as a trendsetter :P
ReplyDelete:)
