Floor Scales Direct (for large weigh-in needs)

Disclosure: The following is a sponsored post.

Floorscalesdirect.com provides platform scales which have a number of commercial and industrial uses. While it's relatively easy to find a small scale to sit on a desk, clients with a need for larger scales should take a look at the site. Some of the largest items that they offer can fit motor vehicles that need to be weighed. That's one of the primary uses of platform scales, though some factories use them for weighing large pieces of machinery as well.

Those who have gone for emissions testing might have had their vehicles weighed. Trucks often have to go through a weigh station on the highway in order to ensure that they're not too heavy. Highways can only handle a certain amount of pressure before they buckle.

Some organizations also charge based on how much freight is moved, and they'll also need these behemoth scales. Shippers who have to move heavier freight will end up paying a higher cost. Trucking firms can't simply go to the store and pick up a bathroom scale. They need specialized technology. That's why this site is so useful.

One of the more impressive aspects of it is that the company that runs it ensures that the platform scales they sell will receive factory calibration. While it's unrealistic to think that a giant machine would work straight out of the box, these have been zeroed out before they ship. That makes getting them rolling a lot easier. This can save time and money when an old broken scale needs to be suddenly replaced.

I would love a large scale of weighing luggage before we go on holiday. Cos those hand held ones are a little annoying.... Cos one of you has to hold it up and the other read it xx

My husband would be interested in this article. I will have him check it out. And good call Kiki and Lala with luggage weighing - I always have to pay more.

My brother-in-law says he has been thinking about a large scale for his business. His wife has forwarded him the link. :)

Yeah these are pretty big, I don't either, but I'm sure there's someone out there reading who might. I hope. ;) :)

Ugh, those handhelds are nice if you have nothing else, but you're right they can be awkward.

Thanks, Monica.

As for domestic weigh-ins, I've gotten better w/packing in my old age, but we still cut it close sometimes.

Thank you for your visit. :)

My mom used to be married to a truck driver. I remember having to go over those large scales when I'd go on runs with him. I can see where this would serve a need!

My dad's side is full of truck drivers but I was never lucky enough to get in a rig! Awesome. :)
