Three of my four kids have birthdays in March. I posted about
my daughter's birthday recently. I didn't post about my
oldest child's birthday celebration, even though he was here visiting while it occurred (we celebrated his wife's birthday too, which is a day before his) because we had it a public place with members of the family who don't like to be on the Internet (and they were in all of the party pictures).
The last birthday this month belongs to my second oldest who is about to be 20. He's smart & has this really great sense of humor. And he loves to travel, just like his mama. And just like me he doesn't care where we're going, just let's get going. ;)

He's also my water baby, and has loved water since the time he could crawl.

We spent the majority of our lives in south Florida (my oldest three were born there) so it stands to reason that they all love the beach, the ocean, and water activities.
This particular child (ah...young man I should say, since he will officially be out of his teen years in a few days) moved back to Florida a year after he graduated high school, to attend college.
So today I was surfing the net to see what I could send him to help celebrate his big day, and I came across these shoes. I knew instantly that he would love them.
Fila Skele-toes:
Have you ever seen such a thing? I wanted to get him one of the brighter, funkier colors, but wasn't sure he'd like that, so I stuck with the black.

I wrote a little about missing him
when he first left, and I still feel just like that even though it's been a good 7 months since then. Goodness I love that child.
And now it's his birthday. So one more happy birthday this month, this time to one of the five people who are forever in my heart, my second oldest.
LOL, those shoes creep me out. They look really weird on someone (sorry) - but anyways, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your son. Hope this upcoming year is filled with all kinds of happiness.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen them on?!?! I haven't (not much use for them up north, I suppose) but I'm betting he's going to love them. ;)
DeleteThanks for the well wishes, I hope he has a fantastic year too. :)
I am so blessed to have my children near.
ReplyDeleteNice looking boy....I know you are proud of him!!
Take care,
Frances
You really are blessed to have them close!! :)
DeleteHappy Birthday to your son Rosey. You have a wonderful family. The pictures are lovely. Take care and have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice compliment, Judy. My family alone makes me feel abundantly blessed. Happy weekend to you too. :)
DeleteWow, three birthdays! That actually sounds exhausting, albeit exciting. Somethin' seems to be going on in that household of yours 9 months before March! ;)
ReplyDeleteI know Rachel, I always tease that it's a 'real Happy Father's Day' over at our place. ;)
DeleteCongratulations and Happy Birthday to the handsome young man! Your poor piggy bank must be flat broke right now with 3 birthdays in one month! Hope he enjoy his present..I've heard those shoes are very comfortable!
ReplyDeleteFlat broke, Lizbeth, always. March is not as bad as December, but it's a runner up. ;)
Deletehappy birthday to your son! he's very handsome!! that's so neat three out of the four of your children share march birthdays...it's a good month. :)
ReplyDeletei hope his day is wonderful! and i hope yours is too!
wishing you a nice, relaxing weekend.

March is a good month (says the mom who is about to have her firstborn in March). Woot! :)
Deleteohh, and those shoes look so oddly comfortable. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping they'll be good for the water.
DeleteHappy Birthday to your son! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jen. A real man now with the big 2-0, hard to believe!
DeleteHow handsome! I couldn't imagine having three children's birthdays in the same month! Yikes on the coin purse!!

When they were all home we had one big party (and included grandpa and uncle too who had March birthdays). Now two are gone, and the other two have a little time between them...separating the parties. ;)
DeleteToe shoes freak me out. I don't know why - they just do. They look alive or something. Anyhoo happy birthday to your handsome son! Love the little guy photo.
ReplyDeleteBuwhahahahahahahahaha. I'm glad they're going straight to him and not coming here first, no telling how I'd view them now, lolol.
DeleteIf he hates them, I've sent board shorts too (which I KNOW he'll like) and the gift receipt. ;)
I've seen the toe shoes. I heard they are really comfortable! My younger sister has a pair.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your 2 boys!
That's funny that your oldest son has a birthday so close to his wife's.
I know, I love it, it makes it easy never to forget her big day too! Thanks for the birthday wishes.
DeleteIt is so hard when our kids grow up and fly the coop.... My Mother once told me she worried more about us after we left home than she did before we left. Probably because she didn't get to see what we were and weren't doing.
ReplyDeleteI love those shoes. I have seen them and thought they would make great beach shoes for walking on the beach.
He's right there on the beach, so that's totally what I'm hoping for w/them. :)
DeleteThis is so sweet, Rosey! Your love of your children is so very evident. They are lucky to have you for a mother! March sure is a busy birthday month for you guys. Sounds busy but fun too :)
ReplyDeleteI'm lucky to have them for kiddos, they're a pretty awesome bunch. We were worried w/them all being so far apart in age, but from first to last they all have special bonds w/each other, and collectively. It's nice. :)
DeleteMarch is busy... agreed. ;) I like the sketch you have up today!
Awww I love this! My daughter is 18 and graduating this year! It is tough for me! My son is 15 so we do have a little more time with a school kid, but man, I feel old. Both mine were water babies too, but we live in OHIO and it's NOT warm all the time lol. Happy Birthday to your March kids! They are all cute :)
ReplyDeleteWe have family in Ohio.
DeleteThanks for the birthday wishes. :)
Excellent photos. Very funny. greetings.
ReplyDeleteGreetings back. :)
DeleteHappy birthday to him. I have a pair of vibrams which are similar to the skeletoes.
ReplyDeleteHurray, someone who has the shoes. Thanks for stopping by. :)
DeleteI always wanted to give those shoes a try but I haven't seen them around here. Supposed to be good for posture and stuff too, another happy birthday to your bay.
ReplyDeleteDoes Amazon deliver your way? I saw some on there.
DeleteThanks for the birthday wish. Last birthday until the grandbaby gets here in May, woot! :)
Those shoes are crazy!
ReplyDeleteHoly birthday month! Happy birthday to all of them!
Batman instantly comes to mind, lol. Thanks for the well wishes. :)
DeleteOh Rosey! So nice of you to share these photos. I too have family that warns me against placing them on the wonderful www.
ReplyDeleteI like hearing about families that have grand accomplishments like wedding and graduations. Neat!
Yes, do go get some of the fingernail polish! hahahaha.
That fingernail polish was gorgeous, especially for this time of the year. :)
DeleteIt's still hard for me too. I cry and cry when they leave after visits, but then I get used to it again until the next visit. Then I cry and cry all over. So hard letting our babies grow up.
ReplyDeleteI cry sometimes out of the blue if something gets to me, luckily it doesn't happen often. I hate when they leave, that's the worst. And my kids are like, 'uh oh, mom's gonna cry,' lol, but whatever.
DeleteGirlfriend I can see why you're so proud of your little man, and such a handsome boy he is too! Happy Birthday to him, and thanks for sharing your precious moments with us! Wow, all those birthday in March. My Mom's was March 29th, and my grandson just turned five on the 19th. Our big month starts May 23rd and travels over until June which we have five birthdays there ending on July 3rd with another birthday, and then they go back to being here & there. Have a great weekend my friend.
ReplyDeleteSummer birthdays are awesome because everyone's happy about the weather. It does sound busy though (and fun).
DeleteHappy birthday to your grandson, I saw you getting ready for his party over at XMas Dolly. :)
Hi! Happy birthdays to your children in march. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, and good weekend wishes back your way. :)
DeleteI am teary eyed while reading this. I am not there yet but I can feel the pain of letting them go.

Aw, it's funny what parents cry over, isn't it? Kids are awesome, even when they get grown. ;)
DeleteI know just how you feel. My oldest will be gone in another year, and already, I'm having anxiety! He has the skeleton - toe shoes and loves them, but be careful - they get really smelly!
ReplyDeleteAlready a follower of yours and glad you stopped by through the link party!
Aha, you've given me one good thing about him being gone, if his shoes get smelly they won't bother me in the slightest. hehehe I'll tell him though, it's a good thing to know. :)
DeleteHi! Returning the follow from the linky party.
ReplyDeleteNice blog! : )
Thanks, Pam. :)
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI'm returning the visit. These photos are awesome. I'm a follower. I've had issues getting GFC to follow you but it finally worked out and I'm now following you on that route. I've been on your Bloglovin. It's amazing how one day you wake up and your kids are moving out. The time seems to have flown by. I raised my kids and thought that when the last one left that I was done with that part of my life, then last year I got a shocker. Now I have a 16 month old son, Surprise! So I get to do that all over again.
Best
Angel
It's fun when you've already done it because you know better what not to stress over, and what to enjoy. :)
DeleteThanks for the follows/visit.
Happy Birthday to your son. Great pictures and looks like he is doing great
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog :)
Thanks for the visit back.
DeleteHappy belated Birthday too!! I love these water shoes and have been longing for a pair--was wondering if they make your toes feel odd with something inbetween each toe??
ReplyDeleteI don't know yet, his birthday is coming up and he lives out of state (I just ordered them and sent them off). Thank you for the visit & the bday wishes. :)
DeleteWhat a handsome young man he is! I can totally relate to your feelings, an empty nest is one thing...an empty nest on their birthdays is quite another.
ReplyDeleteWishing your son a Wonderful Birthday and sending a motherly HUG to you :-)
Holly
Boy, you said it. Happy to take the mom hug, and thank you. :)
DeleteMy nephew had a similar pair of those. I guess they hike and run in them too? I couldn't imagine running in those things. They are not very attractive, but I guess the kids like them. lol I am sure your son will too. Happy Birthday to him. I am sure I will feel the same way you do when the time comes. It's tough to let go. Consolation - It will be a long time before your youngest is ready to leave the nest! :)
ReplyDeleteI know, I'm happy to have a little one in the house too. Believe you me. :)
DeleteThose water shoes are neat and I like the black color :) Happy birthday to your son!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the well wishes and the visit. :)
DeleteI have seen those water shoes, and they are funky! It's nice to see your family photos. Your family is so handsome:) I love to travel too.
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever seen anyone wearing them, but it's winter for so long where I am that I guess there's not much need for them.
DeleteHappy Birthday to your sweetie!
ReplyDeleteNotice how all the children have their own special things about them.
And I can see how a boy would LOVE those shoes!
now for the love/hate thing. I do understand in a small phase : When I had to let the kids go off to school. And I know it will get to this point where you are now with yours. But for now I'll enjoy them :)
Hope y'all have a wonderful time!
Thanks, Colette. I saw the way you did your daughter's hair for her birthday and it was beautiful!
DeleteMy daughter thinks he's cute. E's home for the weekend and just turned twenty in January. She goes to school at UCF in Orlando.

I've seen pictures of your daughter, and she's a beauty. They are in the same state... ;)
DeleteOh, and happy birthday!
ReplyDeletehttp://joycelansky.blogspot.com
Thank you. :)
DeleteWhat a nice post about your son and also wishing him Happy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comment!!
Hugs,
Deb
Thank you for your nice words and visit back, Debbie! :)
DeleteThose toe shoes are just freaky! I do wear reef shoes when I'm swimming in the sea but they don't have the toe feature. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI've worn flippers, lol, Never the reef shoes, but I bet they sure come in handy more often than not. :)
DeleteThose shoes are so funny! :) one of the boys had a pair like that... hope you have had a great time celebrating birthdays!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Noelle. Birthdays are fun. I wish he was here, but he's probably having a lot more fun in Florida, I'm betting. ;)
DeleteAww happy birthday to him :) I love the shoes!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mel. :)
DeleteHappy birthday to your son! My uncle wears those "shoes" and swears by them!
ReplyDelete-Jamie
ChatterBlossom
Happy to hear a positive endorsement. :) Thanks for the birthday wishes.
DeleteHappy Belated Birthday! I always think those shoes look so funky, but my husband says they work really well!
ReplyDeleteYay, happy to hear it. Thanks for sending along happy wishes for his bday, you're not late...his shoes are going to be though, I got the e-mail today. -_- Wish I'd have known that before I paid and checked out.
DeleteHappy birthday to him!
ReplyDeleteMy family's the same way. My younger sister's birthday is tomorrow, and between then and April 15, my brother and 2 oldest sisters also have birthdays. So it's 4 out of 6 with birthdays within 3 weeks for my parents.
I think it's neat too...it's kind of an extra bonus to having siblings when you can all celebrate together. :)
DeleteNew follower here from who knows where... been stumbling around this morning.
ReplyDeleteCan I say how incredibly handsome your son is without it coming off creepy? And we've been loving those toe shoes around here too!

I visited your place today and said how cute your little one was. :)
DeleteI'm following you back. :)
Happy Birthday to your son Rosey! He is very handsome and some nice girl will marry him someday. What nice pictures and I enjoyed reading all about your son! I am sure that you love him tons!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen. He's anti-marriage at the moment, but you're right that'll change someday. I can wait. ;)
DeleteThanks for stopping by. :)
Happy birthday to your kids!! It must be crazy having so many birthdays in 1 month.
ReplyDeleteWe used to have more once upon a time (a grandpa and an uncle too). :)
