Pajama Day

Today was pajama day at the elementary school.  I was nervous because it's cold outside. I didn't want to put him in his pj's and have no one else wear them, or have him out at recess without warm clothes.

My worries were quickly cast aside though, when we went to the school and there were a ton of children running around in their cute pajamas.  There was one little girl in a big, fuzzy robe, and slippers, and that made me laugh.

The atmosphere was fun and the kids all thought it was a big deal.  It turned out to be a fun idea.  My daughter-in-law is here visiting and she said they did it when she was a kid.  I've heard of it before, but none of my kids were ever in a school that did it until now.

It's a fun idea.

Here is little man at his locker this morning.  In his pj's. lol  Did you do this in school, or do your kiddos (if you have any)?

They never had pajama day at my kids school, but I wish they had. My niece, nephew and grandson all love it! Who doesn't love a pajama day?? (I had one myself here at home yesterday!!)

Our kindergarten does this on Polar Express Day every Decemeber,so my son was psyched to be able to go to school in his jammies this year. They will send the kids home, though, if they don't wear the PJ's over their regular clothing because of cold, which I think is really smart - no one wants sick kids that close to Christmas.

he looks so cute! :) Yay for pajama day.

I went to school so long ago that we had to wear dresses... My Daughter didn't do this either at her school. Things have sure come a long way for the kids today.

My kids did this in preschool - never in actual school - but it's such a fun idea I think!
School wasn't " fun " when we were kids - it was a pretty serious endeavor lol - with tunics and knees socks and penny loafers .................
Have a great weekend Rosie!

Suzan

Pajama Day rocks!! I remember when we did it once in high school. Let's say some of the not so gracious girls got sent home for inappropriate wear! LOL

My kids old school did pajama day. They did a spirit week every year where each day was a different theme. They also had crazy hair day. The pajama day and crazy hair day were my kids favorites, which is probably why I don't remember the rest of the week's themes :)

Pajama day is always fun for the kids! We had it for ours last month. It was a special treat since the class filled up their good behavior chart.

Does sound like it would be fun for them. It was never done at any of mine, still don't think it is.

We had pajama day last week at our school. Elliott couldn't remember for sure if it was PJ day or not, so he wore other clothes, and then changed as soon as he got there. Our kids have to wear snowpants and boots at recess during the winter (we live in North Dakota), so being too cold isn't really an issue. It's lots of fun for the kids. Our school even does it so the big kids (he's in a k-12 school) can participate if they want to! :) A lot of the elementary teachers participate in the theme days, too. The kids all get a kick out of that, too. One of the teachers wore a Hello Kitty robe all day this year.

This week they did beach day (Elliott wore a rash guard top and sunglasses, some of the other kids even wore shorts and flip flops), and fishing day as well.

My kids love pajama day, but I have to admit I would always buy them new pj's so they looked as decent as could be and if it was cold, they wore their robe :) So cute!

My son had pajama day at school when he was in elementary. They always loved it. They got to spend extra time in reading circle reading on those days.

My son's high school does it occasionally for Spirit Week. The high school kids love it too.

Seems like when Christopher did this, it was never a weather friendly day for it. There was a PJ day that was too hot also. Did you buy new pjs? I did ;-)

I think I did it in primary school - I have some sort of memory of it but I don't remember it well.

Embarrassing moment #? I stopped counting! Little man looks so cute! Glad he had fun!

Ah, live and learn, I assumed they would NOT send the kids to outside recess because of the pj's, but alas they did. Clothes under next time (or snow pants) for sure.

We had a girl in homeroom who always got sent home for short skirts...and it wasn't even pajama day. ;)

mail4rosey said...

Thank you for the birthday wishes. :)

mail4rosey said...

They were supposed to bring a bedtime story and a stuffed animal (which of course we did). ;)

My daughter had mismatch day last year, and that was a hoot!

mail4rosey said...

Ah, breakfast for supper when they're already in their pj's makes perfect sense!

We had to go to the school carnival, so he had to come home and get dressed, lol

mail4rosey said...

No, grandma keeps him stocked in pjs so we were good.

They sent the kids out to recess and I, big dummy, didn't send clothes along to school w/him. -_- Live and learn...I will next year if they do it again.

I saw a man at the Christmas parade in pj's last year. I had no idea how he wasn't jumping around trying to keep warm. It was cold out there!

Following back, thanks for the visit. :)

He is just too cute!
I'm glad it was a fun day and everyone was in on it.

WE never did this in my country.

They haven't done it here in the schools with my children either...
Very cute idea!

We have PJ day at the preschool, but not at the big kids' school. I'm so glad. My big kids don't wear PJs, just shorts and t-shirts usually. They would want to go out to buy PJs each year, and that would annoy me.
Your little guy is adorable. I love the forced smile he's trying to give you. :)

mail4rosey said...

It was totally fun. :)

mail4rosey said...

It was fun, I wish they'd have done it in the Spring though. ;)
