Malware Warning

Thank you to everyone who e-mailed or messaged me on Twitter to let me know about the Malware warning that is on my website if you are trying to access it through Google Chrome.

THERE IS NO VIRUS!  That's the most important thing to know. :)

Another blogger has a challenge with a code and it somehow links her blog and mine.  Her blog is not infected, and mine has been tested and is not infected.

I realize those who have Google Chrome still can't see this message, but I'm hoping they'll come back and see it at some point later in time.

This is the warning people are seeing:

I've blacked out the name of the associated blog because I know her blog is legitimate and she is just having a code challenge that shoots up a warning from Google Chrome

It's scary when your site throws up a warning like that because you worry people will see it and run (never to return).  I'm hoping that's not the case, but I know too that it could be.  What I'm now wishing for is that those who saw the message will give the sites another chance, Google Chrome will stop flagging me, and myself and the other blogger will get a permanent break from whatever the coding issue is.

And big hugs to the other gal who is going through this mess, because I know people cannot get to her site right now through Chrome or Firefox and that's even worse (and her blog is far more established than mine, so I'm sure it's one hundred times more annoying for her, at least from a business perspective).

Sometimes things happen that cannot be helped, and all you can do is support one another and hope it never happens to you.

In any case, if you're reading this...thanks for sticking around. I really appreciate it (and you).  :)

  4. I just hate that this has been running so rampant lately. If it's not one of us, it's another! Glad you're free and I hope she gets the offending snippet off of her blog soon too!

  7. Hmmm I've noticed that my Google Chrome has not been displaying certain blogs properly (but I didn't see a malware warning). I guess it's back to IE :)

    1. I don't know if Chrome being so sensitive is a good thing or not, it could be better to err on the side of caution. It's sometimes annoying though. :)

  9. I've been in your situation where it was linked to my site by another but I don't worry because I know it's not infected on my end, and that the other person is working on it.

However not everyone understands this and will freak out.

    However I'm your stalker :D

    1. Luckily a lot of the people visiting feel just like you do. :) That's how I feel too, when I see it on someone else's site.

  10. Hi Rosey,

I am very glad to read that you are all set now. Yup. it's true. I am the one Rosey is referring to that has the code challenge right now! I am in the process of moving to a new web host. I had Go Daddy and their environment seems to be the culprit. My programmer says - "Go Daddy is especially good at being the worst." I didn't believe the negative chatter about Go Daddy until it happened to me. I can tell you this - This experience is good for the diet - I haven't had much of an appetite knowing my blog is being flagged for Malware going on day three. So, for any GD users take my advice and switch while can, not under this type of circumstance when time is of the essence.

    1. I hope she doesn't have any problems either. I've never done anything but Blogger and I like it because it's easy.
