My kids are lucky, they all have had someone to grow up with while they are at home.
This morning I was going through some pictures and I found some 'aww' moments that made me smile. I'm rushing around a bit this morning, but I wanted to share a few of them. I know I've had a couple of these up before, but that's okay...I'm just sharing the happy I had this morning, reflecting on the relationships my children have developed with one another over the years.

My daughter has always hated to be away from her brother. Here he is coming off of the field to see her when she's reaching through the fence to try and get to him. |

Fast forward years later, and that same little sister still has a hard time leaving her brother when it's time to (even harder now that he lives several states away). |

Older brothers can be counted on to do things like push you down during a family vacation picture because that's funny. |

Or make you wear your sister's Minnie Mouse headband for a picture at Disney (bribery that I may or may not have been involved with was here ;o) ). |
But you still act silly and jump in their arms like a goofball when you get to see them (after they've grown up and live far away).
Of course there are tons of other pictures that made me laugh or think, 'awww,' but putting them all up would take up far too much room on the blog, and way too much of your time. ;) I guess what I'm thinking this morning, is that like most parents can say, my children all have a very special relationship with one another separately, and they have a great one collectively too. And even though there have been many moments of one telling another to 'Get out of my room,' or 'I'm telling mom!' there have also many 'aww' moments. To tell you the truth, I like either kind of moment (usually ;) ). I'm sure parents/siblings everywhere can relate.
That being said, today is 100 Days of School for my youngest, which is a VERY big deal, so I'm headed over to the Kindergarten to party today (woot!). Happy Tuesday to ya! :)
I love these pictures. It is amazing to grow up with siblings, even though I don't speak to a few of mine they still mean a great deal to me.
ReplyDeleteI've heard you say that before, and I know it stinks, but you're right, that family bond is strong even when 'not talking' is going on. I hope things mend for you all sooner than you could ever expect.
DeleteI love looking through old photo albums and experiencing those "awww" moments :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I had my grandmother's photo collection...she had so many great old pictures.
DeleteVery sweet post today Rosey! Thank you for sharing your awww moments. I want to go pull out my old photos now too :)
ReplyDeleteHappy 100 days of school! Can you believe we are already 1/2 way through the year!?
Yep, I can believe it. 2013 is already moving way too fast for me to catch up. :)
DeleteGreat post, and yeah those relationships are grand. 100 days too, whoo hoo!
ReplyDeleteThat school went all out for 100 days, lol. Love that place!
Deletehow fun... love the sibling love ;)
ReplyDeleteI know you do because you can tell how much you love your brother just by things you say! Thanks for stopping by. :)
DeleteA very nice post that made me smile! This is what it's all about! Thanks for the smile - I really needed it today. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kristi. I love looking through the old pics. Someday I'll scan the really old ones (when I have 500 years on my hands ;) ).
DeleteI had to get a baby picture for my sons 5th grade "graduation" school party so we went through the old albums last night...isn't it fun?! reminds me I should take pictures b/c we forget so many of those experiences..
ReplyDeleteyour photos are wonderful...you are blessed!
I'm half as blessed as you are. I have four, and you have eight. :)
DeleteWhat sweet photos and memories! Sounds like all your kids have a great bond. I love looking through old photos and getting all sentimental :)
ReplyDeleteI do too. It gets worse (or better, depending on perspective) as you get older. ;)
Delete100 days is such a big deal when kids are little! My son's was 2 weeks ago tomorrow, and they were busy with extra projects almost all week!
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures. I grew up in a big family (4 sisters and a brother), and I think that giving my son a sibling is why we continue to try to have another child. I think my husband and I are both more ok with only having one child for US, but want another one for Elliott.
I didn't mind being an only child growing up, but now that I'm grown I think it would have been (and still be) awesome to have a brother or sister I was close to.
DeleteWhat a touching post filled with so many wonderful photos. I love the second photo...I'm sure that it is so sentimental to you (as they all are). Thanks for sharing. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteMaria
Thanks, Maria. That's one of two I put up before (I think it was for a Wordless Wednesday post), but at the risk of being redundant I posted cuz it's one of my faves. My daughter has suuuuuuuuuuch a soft heart for her brothers, all of them. She's a real sweetheart.
Deleterosey - old family pics are the best. I am going to check out some of mine right now! Hope you are having a good week.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I hope you do and it's fun! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteAwww those are sweet! I grew up in a big family and we didn't always like each other, but we still always love each other!
ReplyDeleteI always wanted a big family...maybe the kids'll make me lucky with tons of grandkids (only one's married, so I may have to wait awhile, in fact I hope I do have to wait awhile, lol).
DeleteThis was such a beautiful post!! I am so sorry that you had to lose him so early.

Me too. My kids are far luckier than I was in the sibling department, they have a rich, fulfilling love for one another that I don't think they even know or appreciate yet (but they will). :)
DeleteAwwww - I love how close knit your family is. My kids are still on the young side, but my hope is that they'll grow up to be best friends.
ReplyDeleteThey already look super close and you family seems tight knit too. :)
DeleteAwww! You're making me cry this morning! Love the pictures and all of the sentiment behind them. My kids are super-close, although they have their arguments. All siblings do. Have a good Wed.!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wed to you too, Michelle.
DeleteIt is so nice that your Daughter looks up to her brother so much. So great when the kids get along Kudos to you for being such a great Mom!
ReplyDeleteThey don't always get along, but they do always love each other. ;)
DeleteDon't you just love the silly moments! Laughter builds so much in bonding!
ReplyDeleteMy fave? the one with bro coming to say hello by the field and the one with the other pushing the other over during the photo - hilarious!
Ahh kids :)
DeleteI like that one of him pushing his brother too, but I always think, 'ooh don't hit your head,' even though it was oh, about a zillion years ago, lol.
Rosey your kids a beautiful. These are lovely pictures xo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mel. That last one was just after the holidays when we went to see the oldest. We'd been in the car for 12 hours, and we were a disheveled mess, but we were happy to finally be there! :)
DeleteMy kids fight like crazy (10 & 5). It drives me crazy. I hope one day they are close. Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteSounds like they already are close. ;) :)
DeleteMy two oldest shared a room for awhile, the second oldest went through a (thankfully brief stage) where he would throw everything on his brother's side and say he'd cleaned. Whew, talk about a battleground. LOL
It all works itself out. :) Thanks for visiting.
Awww, this post made me miss my brother. I called him last week to say Happy New Year. I was being sarcastic because it seemed like it had been that long since we talked.
ReplyDeleteChristopher came home last week or the week before with his paper made crown that said, "100 days smarter." ;-)
:)
DeleteWe didn't celebrate 100 days when I was a kid, it's funny that it's going on all over the country now. :)
