We were filling little man's cards out and he wanted to put the little heart stickers on me instead of the cards, because 'he loves me so much.' Awwww, that was my Valentine's Day right there!
Hubby and I have plans coming up soon so I tried to beg off the holiday (first time I've ever tried) by saying we should not exchange gifts this year and save our money instead. He nixed that instantly with an, 'Of course we're going to celebrate the holiday,' and that was that. He's far more romantic than I am. A writer at heart (his calling that he should be doing, but doesn't...but that's a different story), a dreamer... He's also very frugal and practical, so it makes me laugh that he likes such a frilly holiday (I don't laugh where he can hear me).
I, on the other hand, am not nearly as frugal, and am certainly not as practical (in a lot of ways), and I could care less about the holiday. Go figure.
BUT, I do hope each and every one of you has a great holiday. I'll be heading over to the Valentine's Day party at the elementary school today (I'm in charge of passing out the ice cream ;) ), and tonight we'll be going out to dinner as a family and exchanging gifts/chocolate hearts as usual. The kids will like it, and my husband will too, so I guess that's what the day is really about.
Happy Valentine's Day, everybody, if you celebrate it (happy Thursday, if you don't).
LMAO great photoshop job was done. Hate the day in every way, as it is commercialized crap. But if all want to celebrate may as well go with the flow and get some treats that makes ones waist line grow haha

DeleteWhew, those chocolates don't come off so easy when you start getting older either, trust me on that one. ;)
Suuuuuuure it's not really you guys in that picture ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, you know how I feel about Valentine's Day, but I hope everyone that gets caught up in it has a nice day.
DeleteI'm more on your side than the holiday's when it comes to this one. ;)
LOL! Love the pic! We normally don't celebrate Valentine's Day (as in going out to eat) because of our kids. My husband wants to go somewhere this year though. Hope you have a fun day!
ReplyDeleteTheresa
DeleteHurray then, enjoy a night of no cooking or dishes! :)
Have a great day Rosey - love the photo LOL -
ReplyDeleteNot such a Valentine's day girl either - but we're going to see the Silver Linings Playbook - and I'm really excited about that - have been dying to see it!!!
Hugs,
Suzan
DeleteHurray for you guys! I'm going to go look it up and see what it is, but I already know you'll have a fabulous time!
Until I met the Great Scot I despised V-day....now I call it Happy Heart Day and try to think of loving things to do. This year we're donating our old glasses.

DeleteThat is a loving thing to do! I thought of you when I was writing my Scotland post today. :)
I'm not a big Valentine Day celebrant either, mainly because it has not been a big tradition to celebrate it here in Sweden. But I do think it is a nice idea. :) So Happy Valentine's Day to you too!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for dropping by my blog (http://ropcorn.com/). I am already a follower here. :)
DeleteThanks for stopping back, I'm following you back. :)
My goodness, such a photo [hahahahaha] That is so funny. Thanks for your nice comment about the Magnolia blooms that got away. I consider myself a 'lucky snap taker'. Have wonderful Valentine's Day.

DeleteYou were, that was a pretty picture. :)
I don't dislike Valentine's Day but I feel as though we should celebrate it every day of the year rather than just one.
ReplyDelete
DeleteA romantic is in the house.
I bet your wife likes that attitude. :)
Haha crazy photo! Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDelete
DeleteSame to you!! :)
It makes me smile to think back on the fun of classroom Valentine's Day parties! Enjoy!
ReplyDelete
DeleteIt was a long time ago, Liz, at least for me. But they were fun. :)
I'm signed up to serve the ice cream, and I'm going for my son, but I'm also going today to try the treats...my son's teacher knows how to throw a party, I'm not even kidding, lol.
Have fun serving ice cream!
ReplyDeleteKids get into anything that has holiday by it. We've never made a big deal about St Patrick's Day or President's Day. Somehow Mica wants to spray his hair green this year. Last year he wanted to draw all the presidents. He drew about 15 of them; then got tired. They actually looked like the presidents. It was crazy.
That photo is funny!
Your son drawing the presidents is awesome, he'll always remember them and probably knows more already than a lot of adults do. :)
DeleteYou're right the kids do put the holiday in the holidays. :)
I am a Valentine's Day lover, though Jason and I do not exchange gifts. He does bring the girls some candy in after work, and that makes them happy. I do buy myself some candy though. It's the only day of the year I can put a $5 bag of candy in the shopping cart and DARE him to question me on it lol.

DeleteThree women in the house... your husband's got a lot to be thankful for on Valentine's Day. :)
We don't do anything special for Valentine's Day here. Hubby is taking me out for dinner and I guess I could say that anytime I don't have to cook is a special day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day to you!!
Thanks for following my blog, I'll be happy to follow back.
DeleteNo dishes for me tonight either, woot! Happy Valentine's Day to you too. :)
hehehe, I love the picture. I feel Valentines day is for the young couples I dont know why. I dont really do anything for it as you well know :)

DeleteI told my husband about your sign at our Valentine's dinner, lol. It makes me laugh. :)
I showed him that I put that photoshop picture up too, but he wasn't amused. He's never liked it like I do, hehehe
We don't do much for Valentines Day either. We both had an eye dr apt. and then we went out to eat. Thats our day.

ReplyDeleteMy husband and I usually celebrate Valentine's Day together, but it's usually pretty low key.
We did have a nice day. I hope you enjoyed your time out w/your husband...your 1st time alone on the day, yes? :)
DeleteLOL! That photoshop picture is so funny. I hope you had a good day yesterday. Take care and have a good Friday.
