My oldest son and his wife, despite the challenging weather we're having, made it in to visit this week, woo hoo! Their drive was not a short one, and the Mrs. is expecting in May, so I was happy when they arrived. I was also very happy that our power came back on just before they got here (we lost it for quite a few hours from the winter storm that passed through), so the house was nice and toasty when they got in.
We also had a snow day yesterday, and what better to do on a snow day, than go play in the snow! Just like when my
second oldest son came to visit, the kids went out to the backyard for some fun in the fluffy white stuff.
I took the youngest out first, and it wasn't long before big brother followed (while the rest of the house was content to see what they could see through the window of the warm house).
Big brother's more fun than mom.
Right away he started in with the 'cool' stuff, throwing snow, taking little man down the hill on his back:

| There's a little one on his back, lol! |
Doing handstands and flips:
Letting little man tackle him with brute force: ;)
And dancing... I think? lol
Then his wife came out to watch for a little bit. She's due in May and is having a wonderful pregnancy (and she looks cute too!).
And then we headed back up to the house, but not before little man got one more 'sneak attack' in. :)
Having my son and his wife here is always a treat. And this is the first time in a long time my oldest has had hair, lol!! He has a new position in the military that allows him to grow it out, and after seeing him for so many years without any, it was a nice surprise.
I always count my blessings, but any time the kids are around, my cup runneth over. :)
Happy Thursday!
what a fun day!! i love love love snow and it looks like you all had a blast. LOVE the photo of your son going down the hill. :)

ReplyDeleteAre you sure your oldest son wasn't dancing to 'Kung Fu Fighting'? =D

How sweet. Your post made me smile. I I bet they bring renewed energy to the house especially during the winter season. Glad you weren't without power for too long.
ReplyDelete
DeleteThey do bring a happy energy along. ;)
And you and me both about the power. 1st time since I got hubby a generator that we lost it...come to find out he doesn't know how to use it and we didn't have gas anyway. -_- Hopefully he'll brush up on the directions, or YouTube or something, it was cold in this house, lol
How lovely. I can feel the happiness from here.

DeleteThanks, the snow is fun if you're just out playing in it. :)
Looks like a grand time was had by all. That is the only good thing about snow, days off and using it to attack haha

DeleteThe snowballs they were chucking were huge! We shoulda' built a snowman. :)
Hopping around with Linking with my Ladies.
ReplyDeleteMy husband says I light up when my older children come home. It's great having my whole family together, I sounds like you feel the same way.

DeleteThat first picture cracks me up!!! Looks like a blast.
ReplyDeleteSilly's still in at our place. ;)
Deletehuh? I am confused? You have an adult son and a young son? How many children do you have and YOU do not look old enough to have an ADULT son that is expecting a child soon. I thought you were in your 30's. Where did I get that idea? Oh, I know, I am old and losing it! ...that's it, that's what happened. hahahaha. I love all of those snow pics!!!!
ReplyDeletePeople always say that, ha, I must 'type young,' lol
DeleteI have four kids, 25 (tomorrow), 19, 13, and 5 (and yep, we did the last one on purpose...people shudder, hahhahaha, but we're glad we had one more, it's so fun when you don't have little things to worry about like you do when you're younger). :)
and ...thank you for the sweet compliment about my HM's taste. Awh ...... ..... .....
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, totally. :)
DeleteI can't wait to see your first grand baby! :) I wonder when he or she will be born? Isaak's birthday is May 19.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny about seeing him with hair. I bet he looked so different to you.

ReplyDeleteits those memories that mean the most!!!
Cant wait to hear about the grandbaby...
