Perrier

I really like Perrier, and we often keep a bottle in the refrigerator.  I have never had a problem with it in many, many years...until now.  For no apparent reason, my bottle exploded in the back of the 'fridge, just behind the apple juice my five-year-old readily reaches in to get on his own.  Scary stuff that... glad I'm the one that happened upon the scene.

And why am I telling you?  I don't know...
because it was freaky
because I don't want it to happen to you
because I'm still thinking, 'What was up with that?!?"

Have you ever had a bottle explode for no apparent reason?  I like the chill from the glass, but I may have to switch now to the plastic or the can.  We shall see. For a little while though, I'll probably just skip out on buying it.

    1. Yours is worse than mine! I know a couple who had a really big fish tank on their carport and the bottom broke out...shattered into a million pieces when no one was around it. The husband saved the fish, and fixed the tank and had it back up and running by the end of the week. I was impressed. Still am and it's been years. ;)

  3. Love Perrier and have a glass with lime. I keep mine in the pantry and it is fine there and has never broken. Maybe it has to do with the cold, or sounds inside of the frig. Have a Simply Heavenly weekend!!! :):)

  4. That is weird! I've never had a bottle of wine explode, and I always keep mine in the fridge. We have a mini fridge in our bedroom, and that's were we keep it now.

    1. I know, it is weird, right?? We didn't vary the temp inside the fridge or anything...maybe it was the bubbles in the water that did it on a fluke.

  5. How strange. Had the bottle been in there long? Maybe there was a temperature change? Anyway, thanks for sharing. Would definitely not like to have to happen to me.

    1. It was in there while we were away on a mini-vacation for a few days. Maybe that really was it.

  7. My sister has had wine explode. I can't think of anything exploding like that.

I know some of the US States are banning plastic water bottles, not sure if it include Perrier or not.

    1. I hadn't heard. We have well water so we live off of the bottled stuff. I miss city water(fluoride is missing in this stuff).

    1. I think after reading everyone's comments I'm probably unintentionally at fault. I left it in there a few days, it was on the top shelf, and w/no one opening and shutting the 'fridge (just a house sitter in the house) it probably got too cold.

Like you said though, glad it wasn't little man reaching in there, he wouldn't even know better.

  9. I love Perrier with lime over a little ice, but seldom drink it, usually only when dining out on special occasions in the late evening. I've never heard of one exploding, though. Thank God no one was hurt.

    1. We had an elderly family member who would make a little glass of Perrier and Grenadine for the kids when they came to visit, boy they thought that was a TREAT! :)

  10. I have never experienced it by my self, but i have heard that if the bottle somehow gets so cold that it freezed, it may explode. So good that nothing bad happened to anyone!

  12. I have never had Perrier. That must have been frightening. I have heard it said that a glass bottle can explode if it is kept in the top of a fridge for long. Have a good weekend mail4rosey.

  13. Wow, I've never had that happen. If there was any one thing I could say I HAD to have when I was pregnant its was Perrier. And I haven't had it much since then. I rarely see the glass bottles and I am just put off by the plastic ones. I call that fake Perrier. I may just be me, but I don't think they taste the same - swigging out of the bottle in the middle of the night.
