I Wish Someone Would Invent...
When I'm doing things around the house, working, or out playing or on vacation, I have these little thoughts come to mind regarding, "I wish someone would invent..."
For example:
I wish someone would invent a very easy way to roll up an outside extension cord (you know, the big, unruly orange ones). Every single time I have to wrap one up, I have this thought. They're a pain.
Another example of something I wish someone would invent: A diaper bag w/a compartment for the laptop, iPad, what have you. An area that is padded, waterproof, and meant for mom (or dad) to use for their electronics. It would eliminate the need to carry an extra bag when going from place to place.
I have others...if I think of them in a short amount of time, I'll post them.
I'm going to keep this post at the top for a couple of days to see if anyone else has any, "I wish someone would invent..." ideas that come to mind. Who knows? Maybe one of the craftier folks amongst us will pick up on an idea or two, and pin a solution to Pinterest. Woot! :)
So what have you? Any, "I wish they'd invent..." thoughts that come to mind for you?

I constantly have them ( and can't think of one of them right now lol )
ReplyDeleteBut why aren't you patenting them Rosey???
Great ideas
Hugs,
Suzan
DeleteTime, money, and a lack of creativity. :) But if someone else invented something that made it a breeze to roll up those darn cords, and I liked it, I'd buy one. :D
I totally agree on the extension cord thing! They are such a pain! I wish someone would invent an easy way to fold fitted sheets. Such a nightmare!
ReplyDelete
DeleteTotally all in on this one...someone please invent a fitted sheet that looks pretty when it's folded (and is easy to fold)!
Yes, an extension cord invention would be great!!!
ReplyDeleteSomething that whips that baby right into a pretty circle with the touch of a button! :)
Deletesome of the inventions I have bought on those late night infomercials sounded just like everything I needed...hahaha...I think that is when I stopped watching TV!
ReplyDelete
DeleteThe kids have all gone through their phases of telling me how great the infomercial products are, lol. :)
Very cool blog. Interesting posts. ;)
ReplyDeleteNice atmosphere guests with you here on the blog. ;]
Yours. Have a nice day. !

I'm very concerned about this, please. :)

I liked the page, thanks for stopping by.
DeleteThose are some pretty good "wishes" ;-), esp about the laptop / diaper bag combo!
ReplyDeleteJoAnn
DeleteHopefully someone will invent one. We're past the diaper bag stage here, but I remember longing for that combo when we weren't. :)
Good ideas! I wish you could buy the little pieces that go on the bottom of a heel. I must be really hard on my shoes, because I always wear them off, then the shoes are ruined :(

DeleteMine wear out too. Good invention idea!
I would check your good ole shoe repair shop - I think they have those....
DeleteYou should write these ideas down, keep them to yourself, and actually invent one and become rich!! :)
ReplyDelete
DeleteOr someone else should invent them so I could buy them. hehee
Great ideas! As Camille says, you should patent these. And, Ginny, they do make heel tips like these for dance shoes. Thanks for the great post & God bless!
ReplyDeleteLaurie
DeleteAh, because dancing probably does tear up your shoes pretty fast! totally worth it though, I bet. :)
LOL at the diaper bag and yeah the cord one would be very helpful.
ReplyDelete
DeleteA diaper bag, a purse, a carry on bag, a laptop bag...you start looking like a bag lady every time you board a plane. And never mind walking down the narrow aisle with all that stuff.
Hmmmm I can't think of something off the top of my head, but I really liked reading yours. I think half of the things I wish were invented to help me out really comes down to me needing to be more organized. I am the queen of carrying about three beverages into the office at once. That would be two coffees and one water. I know...a thermos. :)
ReplyDelete
DeleteThere are some in-the-kitchen items I think of all of the time, but I can't think of a one now.
My husband always buys two drinks for himself when we're out. When we first started dating years ago, I thought, 'aww, he got me one too, how sweet.' But no. They were both for him. -__- LOL :)
Hello, What a great topic. Yes I wish someone would invent better ways to wind cords of ALL kinds. They drive me crazy! Thanks, Lori

DeleteAutomatic cord retrieval for the flat iron, the clothing iron, the lamps. Oh yeah, you're on to something here. :)
Ugh - those tangled extension cords ARE a pain. What a good idea for someone to invent. Maybe you should get the ball rolling before someone steals your idea?
ReplyDelete
DeleteI hope they do, and then get to inventing quick. ;)
Hello found your blog via the blog hop over at what jean likes, i am now following you! Would love it if you could pop over. I'm a newbie so trying to get my head round things at the moment lol.

I follow back :D
DeleteFollowing you on both. Thanks for stopping by.
Agree with the bag! Big thumbs up. The cord thing is interesting, my dad had this thing he made when we were young wich was kind of like a post with our light a spare outlet and grooves to wrap and unwrap like a garden hose. Give it a go at making them yourself chaching. I wish someone would invent a self cooker, it just completely planned ordered and prepared the meal - then self cleaned!
ReplyDelete
DeleteYour dad could patent. :)
I like your idea. Or a Gummy vitamin that would make children clean up after themselves, woot!
Yeah I don't like those extension cords either.I can't think of anything right now but I'll be back when the light bulb comes on.
ReplyDeleteIn the cold they're even worse to roll up. I'm coming over to your blog now for my morning visit. :)
Deletei wish someone would invent a phone/laptop (or any other gadget) battery that doesn't need recharging! lol. :)
ReplyDeleteCameras too! Agreed!
DeleteThat sounds like a good idea for the diaper bag that holds the computer laptop for all you computing mommies on the go.
ReplyDeleteA battery that doesn't need a charge in my camera would be perfect. I agree.
Have a great week.

The other one was nice, but I really like your new avatar!
DeleteGenius ideas! You should invent them or patent them or something. :) Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
ReplyDeleteAlison
Thanks for stopping back. :)
DeleteYOU are a genius and should be taking matters into your own hands girlfriend!!
ReplyDeleteIf I was a genius, I'd have made these things already... I want someone else to be a genius and make them. Especially the cord thingy. ;)
DeleteYOU are a genius and should be taking matters into your own hands girlfriend!!
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas Rosey! One thing my Mom mentioned was adding a loop to the plug of her hairdryer so that she could just pull it out of the socket with her finger, rather than her whole hand - she has arthritis and feels this would be easier for her. (Such an easy little thing too!)
ReplyDeleteThose big square plugs can be a pain to get out for me, so I bet they really can be difficult if you have arthritis!
DeleteMy husband can roll up the extension cord with ease. He uses his hand and elbow to wrap it around perfectly. I never get the same result though. Great idea on the diaper bag! I've been contemplating a diaper bag in our handmade line, and would love to have a good one to fit our brand. I like to have super function with a lot of style, so that it looks like your every day bag. I'm going to go look at the Etsy diaper bag designers, and see what they have now:) Maybe someone has something similar?
ReplyDeleteOhh, you can be the one to design it, that would be awesome. I cannot be the only one who has longed for one. :)
DeleteGuys can do that arm/elbow thing, but I've tried, and it never comes out pretty.
Yes! Diaper bag/laptop bag hybrid - that is exactly what I need!
ReplyDeleteHa! I knew I wasn't the only one. :)
DeleteThose are some good ideas for inventions. I am a little brain fuzzy today so I can't think of anything right off the top of my head. I'll have to get back with you on this one. I know at least once a day I find myself frustrated by something that could make my life easier if someone would invent something for that particular problem!
ReplyDeleteU and me both. Water bottles for kids that aren't stainless steel (my son doesn't like them), don't have a permanent straw in them (bacteria town), and that have a nozzle or tip that's not easy to bite (not that my son would ever do such a thing, hehe), but is easy to open and close for the little ones topped my list yesterday after we did our third search for the perfect water bottle.
DeleteLet me know when you get your inventions up and running and end up on Shark Tank!
ReplyDeleteHaha...

I think my husband asked me if I've heard of that show recently (someone was telling him about it), and I hadn't (the nurse at the hospital told us it's been around awhile, haha). And now I've heard of it again. :) I think I'll give it a YouTube search. :)
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog today! I am now following back :)

Thanks for visiting back. :)
DeleteWell it sounds like you should start inventing some of this stuff. : ) Obviously, these things are a pain to others. It would be nice to have an extension cord roll up thing with the handles like hoses have huh! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great weekend too.
DeleteThe extension cord idea sounds wonderful!!! You really should get it patented!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekending !
Not me, lol, but I wish someone would, and fast. A portable one that could roll from place to place would be ideal (since we take our extension cords all over the yard).
DeleteI am not very creative in this way, usually I wish someone would create a fairy wand I can wave in the air at bedtime so the boys fall right asleep after bedtime books. I also wish their was a magic wand to wave so I could fall asleep that fast most nights ;-) So I suppose, I would invent a magic wand that works!
ReplyDeleteLOL! A magic wand that only worked for mommies would make you an instant bazillionaire, I'm sure of it. :)
DeleteMy husband and I argue about the orange extension cord. According to him, I don't wrap it up right. My thought is, ok then he can wrap it up since I suck up all the leaves out of our driveway. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd invent a potato peeler that has a peel cutter on one side of it and a knife on the other. This is when I'd want to draw what I'm thinking. You wouldn't cut your hand with it.
This isn't an invention, but I'd love to have a bakery/art gallery. All the baked goods would be like art pieces. The gallery floor would have art prints on the ground with glass over them. Artist's would be able to show their work in there.
DeleteThe potato peeler/slicer would be handy...stick a grater on there too (for shredded potatoes) and if it's not to gimmicky then, I'd be all in. :)
I love the bakery/art gallery idea. I've never heard of anything like it at all but it does sound fabulous. Maybe the Art dept. could team up w/the culinary dept. at your university and do a demo run (Seriously, it'd probably be a lot of work, but a ton of fun if it could be worked into the curriculum).

Just followed you back, thanks for visiting.
DeleteHaha you have the orange and I have the big yellow one!
ReplyDeleteI know they have the hose thing, but yes I want something for my hose and I want the hose to be lighter but still long and big enough to use properly!
I want a standing desk that I can pull all the way up to my arms and fold down flat like a laptop and take with me, so if I want to stand outside and blog, then yes I can just do that! (Not sure you got that picture that's in my head :)
Got it and I love it. I used to do homework outside in the summer so the kids could play, and we don't have a table out there, so I had to juggle the laptop on my lap and I hated it. Standing up would w/a desk like that would have been way better!
DeleteHello!!
