To answer your question, I did walk barefoot on the sand but it was REALLY painful - I only did it because I was getting too many shells in my sandals and didn't want to wreck them. There are other sandier beaches nearby but since this one is at a national park (historic site) they don't rake it or bring in sand, it's kept natural.
I love rainbows. That's awesome that you were able to capture the whole thing in a picture, too! Gorgeous.
