Look Who's Home to Visit

We have a few things going on here...one is grandpa is sick.  Three and a half weeks in the hospital sick.  So yesterday morning at 4am, my second oldest son got on a plane from Florida to come visit.  We stopped by the hospital and had a great visit (Grandpa didn't know he was coming).

Then we headed to the elementary school on the way home to pick up little man.  Big brother JUST moved away at the end of summer, and little man has quite the attachment to him (and vice versa).  We didn't tell our little guy his brother was coming.  So...exhausted but eager to see his brother at the school, away we went.  It was def. a happy surprise.  He didn't notice who we had with us at first, but once he did, look at the instant and huge hug he wrapped on him, lol.  That'll wake a tired man up.  :)

Great to have him home!! He's only staying 7 days, but we're really glad he's here. Little man is really, really, realllly glad he's here.  The last thing he said before he went to sleep last night was, "You're still going to be here tomorrow when I get home from school, right?"  :)  Love, Love, LOVE it when my kids are together.  :)

  1. That was cute! Did he not see him until the last second? What did he say after "Hey You?" That was so cute!

    1. I agree, Khloé, one of the best things about children is how genuine they are (even if we sometimes wish they came with filters out in public ;) ).

  7. I am a nurse and I will vouch that spending any length of time in a hospital is not fun! Hope your grandpa gets better soon. :)

    1. My f-i-l is facing very challenging circumstances to say the least, and the nurses are so good about making him feel valued. I think that is just as important as most anything else because it helps keep his frame of mind positive.

You're right though, hospital stays are zero fun, and the lengthy ones like this one sure make you appreciate all of the little luxuries of home.

    1. Sounds like you're lucky too. People always marvel at the age differences between my four, but they get along so famously. I hope that continues for the rest of their lives.
