Hey, I Bet You Eat Something Weird Too!

Over the years, I have developed some really good eating habits (a love of salads, usually with no dressing; raw veggies as a favorite dish; and fresh fruit often, to name a few), but I have some really weird ones too...you know, the kind that make everyone around you go, "eww!" or try to be polite and look away not saying a word (if they don't know you very well).  I'm sure these will make The Detox Diva cringe (love her very healthy blog!), but I can think of five:

1.  Mustard for my fries.  I like a side of mustard and ketchup for my fries, and I dip (or swish if it's on my plate). This one seems to bother waitresses quite a bit.  I am not apologetic.  :)

Three of four of my children eat mustard on their fries.  I'm sure some day they will not thank me.  ;)

2.  Potato chips ON my sub.  Instead of eating them beside my sub, I put them on it.  I like the crunch.

3.  Banana Peppers on my pizza...but then I take the banana peppers off and eat them by themselves with a fork.  Weird, I know.

4.  I like hot sauce sprinkled on my popcorn.

5.  I don't eat them often, but when I do I love a good bagel.  I'll only eat it two ways though...lightly toasted with butter, or not toasted at all with the teensiest bit of cream cheese layered on the top.

When I was a kid, I used to tear my pizza slice apart and eat it in layers, saving the cheese for last...and I used to eat mustard sandwiches...sometimes warmed up.  ;)  Or, and I forgot about this until now, I'd wait until a Saltine packet was almost empty and cry dibs on it so I could have the crumbs and salt accumulated at the bottom, and I loooooooved it.

Which reminds me, I have a daughter who won't eat microwave popcorn out of a bowl because she likes to lick the salt off the inside of her popcorn bag (another ew, I know, lol.).

My mom used to eat a slice of bread with milk and sugar on it. I hate wet bread, so I never got the hang of that one.

And I have a son who puts pepper on everything...even his bread.

What about you?  Any unusual eating habit to which you're willing to 'fess up?

Ok, first, I LOVE potato chips (non-GMO and usually fried myself but chips nonetheless) on my tuna sandwiches when I eat them. I eat banana peppers on everything including my pizza (and yes, I occasionally make pizza!) and mustard on my fries??? Dijon please and I never miss it! See? We aren't so different. They are never Mc Gagald's french fries, usually my hubby makes them, but I LOVE mustard on my fries.

Funny about Detox Diva;) Love Jacqueline! I love mustard with my fries, and always like to put chips in my sub! Hot sauce on the popcorn sounds perfect too! You should try chips in your scrambled eggs:)

You guys are making me feel normal, thank you!! ;) :) Imagine a whole group of us asking for mustard on the fries at a restaurant, lolol.

I eat weird things too.
- Popcorn and nacho cheese. I like dipping each piece in it.
- Hot sauce on Pizza and mashed potatoes and mac and cheese.
- Pancake syrup on bacon

My husband puts syrup on his bacon and his sausage too. He also won't eat mashed potatoes unless they have cream corn on top of them (his whole family does that, lol). Hot sauce on pizza doesn't sound half bad!!

I'm with you oh the bagel and cream cheese. I didn't even think it was possible to eat bagels any other way.

Most people eat it with a LOT of cream cheese on it, but I cant' stomach it that way. Thanks for stopping by. :)

I have 2 weird ways of eating something:
bagels - i like to toast my bagels and eat peanut butter & jelly
sandwiches - depending if its honey ham or turkey slices I'll add cheese, sliced tomato, lettuce, mayo, mustard, and lastly relish lol

Hot dogs are a sandwich (sort of) and people have been relishing them for years, haha, literally and figuratively. ;)

Ew on the mustard on anything, YES on the bread with milk :)

Now I'm stuck. I can't think of any eating habits. Hahaha.

1. Drink: I has to be half water and half juice. If there is no water, then I don't like it or wont drink it.

2. I don't order drink at the restaurant. i wont drink it. So I just get water.

3. I cannot eat cold fries or pizza. They MUST be hot :)

4. I don't drink pop or soda or etc. I"ll take a sip if someone wants me to, but that's it.
I wish I could get dh to stop drinking them too :)

Aloha.

I like my juice diluted too (half and half) and the kids will drink it that way too. Hubby likes to have it full-stregth. And ooo, I don't like cold fries either, yuk.

Thanks for stopping by, always happy to see you. :)

Well, it's not really that weird, but ever since I started Weight Watchers, I eat spaghetti squash with everything....it stretches out my meals and doesn't add any points! ;)

I am sure we all have a few of those habits. I am not much of a potato chip fan... but I do put them on a sandwich from time to time.

I love thousand island dressing and I drizzle it on anything that's fried!

Thanks for visiting/following. :)

Those things are neat! I like the way they look.

mail4rosey said...

...and you eat mummies, or at least popping praline mummy truffles :)

mail4rosey said...

My husband likes a restaurant that serves something that looks like 1000 Island alongside one of the (fried) appetizers. Not sure if that's what it is, but it sure looks like it!

I eat my fries with ketchup AND mayo. Not necessarily mixed together, but I put them both next to each other and dip in the mayo and then the ketchup. YUMMMMMMM!

mail4rosey said...

I totally forgot when I was expecting my first I ate mayo and relish on my fries (I don't even like mayo, but I sure loved it then). People eat mayo/ketchup on their burgers...so why not their fries too? :D

Pretzels with ice cream.
Chips on a ham sandwich.

Don't eat a lot of junk snacks, but I've learned to open the new bag at the bottom where all the tastier bits have accumulated- starting with the best bits first lol.

P.S. My inlaws hate mustard and recoiled when I asked for some to put on a turkey sandwich.

mail4rosey said...

lol, my husband hates mustard too. I feel the same about mayo...and yet we make this relationship work. ;)

I have a daughter who lives on sub buns with pickles and cheese. As a child I ate mustard sandwiches (just mustard and bread) regularly. I'm more like the lady in the Frank's commercial; I put that sh*t on everything! ;)

mail4rosey said...

Your daughter has just made a new version of the veggie sub is all. ;)

You guys are sick, and I don't mean like Tony Hawk.

This is all really weird. I don't eat anything out of the ordinary.

Unless you count sunbutter and syrup, mixed together and sopped up with a tortilla. Or bits of corn tortilla fried up with scrambled eggs. Or onion rings *in* the burger.

Now I'm hungry. Nice post!
