Wordless Wednesday: Rome, Italy

The Colosseum

The Roman Forum (side by side with the Colosseum).
This was every bit as astounding and marvelous as the stadium.

Those were my favorite boots, but the streets of Rome claimed the heel.
Lesson learned...pack sneakers when traveling. :)

Rome was a beautiful city, and we enjoyed our time in it.

    1. It was raining the first few days when we came out (but still lovely). When the sun came out it was a whole different city. The steps came alive, artists were out, people were everywhere! It was an amazing transformation!

  6. Lovely photos! I wore walking shoes in Paris for just that reason. Relief! I climbed so many stairs, I think my legs would have given out in heeled boots!

    1. Seems like a lot of places in Europe have a ton of stairs. :) Those heels were MORE comfy than sneakers or flats...but generally, you're right...:)

  10. I bet that was an amazing trip!!! And I've learned the hard way about bringing good shoes too!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's hard to have room for shoes too, because you don't want them to get squished. Someone should invent a shoe travler that doesn't take up a lot of room but still protects your shoes, lol.

  11. That must have been such an amazing trip!! Bet you had a great time even though your shop broke :(

Happy WW and thanks for linking up!

  35. Oh, to be able to travel! I was in Canada once (for 4 hours) about 40 years ago - Niagra Falls in FEBRUARY - the Falls were just about frozen and so was I. That was my "trip abroad"! Even missing the boot heel - you look great - I envy you!

  51. Great pics! They bring back so many memories!!! My family and I go to Sardinia, Italy every summer and often stop in Rome or go south to the Amalfi Coast as a "side" vacation! This was a post (Wordless Wednesday) from last year in Sardinia...you should check it out and make Sardinia your next vacation destination ;-)))

  53. Roman streets claimed a pair of shoes from me too. My feet hurt so badly from walking that I threw them away back at the hotel. Sneakers definitely are best when sight seeing.

  54. WOW! I would love to be able to touch and walk where others have walked in that time, simply amazing.
