The Colosseum |
The Roman Forum (side by side with the Colosseum). This was every bit as astounding and marvelous as the stadium. |
Those were my favorite boots, but the streets of Rome claimed the heel. Lesson learned...pack sneakers when traveling. :) Rome was a beautiful city, and we enjoyed our time in it. |
But you look so stylish in those boots! Great pictures!
ReplyDeletelol, I used to miss them so. :)
DeleteBeautiful shots! It must have been so wonderful walking around Rome. Lovely boots! I am sorry you lost the heel. Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Judy. It was wonderful!
DeleteThese are so beautiful. I love photography, and I would love to see these up close. So amazing. THanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was so pretty I'd love to go back. We missed some things, and The Sistine Chapel was closed when we went.
DeleteBeautiful photos! I would love to visit Rome one day!
ReplyDeleteAnd I would love to spend more time in Germany. Your castle pics were great!
DeleteNice photos Rome is a lovely city :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was raining the first few days when we came out (but still lovely). When the sun came out it was a whole different city. The steps came alive, artists were out, people were everywhere! It was an amazing transformation!
DeleteLovely photos! I wore walking shoes in Paris for just that reason. Relief! I climbed so many stairs, I think my legs would have given out in heeled boots!
ReplyDeleteSeems like a lot of places in Europe have a ton of stairs. :) Those heels were MORE comfy than sneakers or flats...but generally, you're right...:)
DeleteVery nice, I love, Roman excellent photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was looking through your black and white abstracts this morning, and they're great!
Deletelovely photos. xo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katherine. :)
DeleteLOL! Poor boots! I think I always wear tennis shoes or low heels. Great pictures. I can't wait until I get a chance to go.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm finally over my boots. It sure took awhile though. ;)
DeleteOh for sure pack a few good pair, although I remember the Italianos loving to dress up. I say be a tourist & protect ur wallet & feet.
ReplyDeleteWas it wonderful?
Yes, wonderful! One of the prettiest places we've been.
DeleteI bet that was an amazing trip!!! And I've learned the hard way about bringing good shoes too!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to have room for shoes too, because you don't want them to get squished. Someone should invent a shoe travler that doesn't take up a lot of room but still protects your shoes, lol.
DeleteThat must have been such an amazing trip!! Bet you had a great time even though your shop broke :(
ReplyDeleteHappy WW and thanks for linking up!

It was pretty, and probably the best place for pictures that we've ever gone.
DeleteWhat beautiful photos! There is truly nowhere like Rome! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lisa. It was a nice trip. Seeing the pics makes me want to travel (but it doesn't take much to make me WANT to travel). :)
DeleteSo beautiful. Rome just seems like such a laid back place. I'd also love to see it in person some day!
ReplyDeleteIt is laid back, that's a good description! And there's great shopping if you can afford it (which we couldn't, but the Gucci store was sure fabulous to look through ;) ).
DeleteWOW a very pretty place to be!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
DeleteSorry to hear about the heel on your boot, but I can't think of a better place to lose it! lol! The Roman forum is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I was thinking when I posted the caption, lol. :) What better place to lose a heel?
DeleteWOW, is all I can say! Rome. WOW! Travel photos are always the best. Too bad about your heels. Definitely need to be wearing sneakers. LOL Thanks for visiting today. Now following! =D
ReplyDeleteTravel photos are awesome. I like to visit sites that have them too. :)
DeleteJust breathtaking photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Wayne.
Deletesuch wonderful photos
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun trip, Pamela. I'd love to go back but there are so many other places in Italy to see!
DeleteLess than a month, I will be there...
ReplyDeleteI don't remember reading about your trip. I'm coming over to see where I missed it. :) Thanks for the visit!
DeleteRome was one of my favorite places to visit! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my Wordless Wednesday! So nice of you to visit! ;-)

ReplyDeleteIt was a very nice place to be. :)
DeleteI would love to go to Rome again someday.

Join my Wordless Wednesday blog hop.
And you should! :)
DeleteSo fun! Yikes about your feet though.
ReplyDeleteSilly girl to bring just heels. Lesson learned. :)
DeleteWhat's up with that heel? No fair! Cool adventure traveling though!
ReplyDeleteLack of traveling on the planner's part (that would be me). ;) It was still a fun adventure despite the heel problem. :)
Deletewow..fabulous photos! lucky you!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun trip. Thanks for visiting!
DeleteWonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Betty. :)
DeleteSo sorry to hear about your favorite boots, but it looks like you had a fabulous trip:)
ReplyDeleteIt was fabulous in spite of my heel not thinking so. :)
DeleteEnjoy your pictures. I've been to Milan and Bologna, but not Rome. That must have been a great trip for you -- okay . . . except for the boots. Sneakers are the way to go with some dress shoes for special occasions.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see both...there's so many places to see, but so little time to do it. Wish I'd have started the love of travel much earlier in my life. :)
DeleteBeautiful!! Someday I would love to visit there.
ReplyDeletePS...sorry to hear about your boots. :)
You can be I pack flats or sneakers these days. :)
DeleteI want to go to Italy soooo bad. Great pic.
ReplyDeleteMe too, I really want to see Venice, and eat pizza in Naples!
DeleteI LOVE Rome and just love your photos. Thanks for stopping by WW

You and your daughter took a trip to Paris not too long ago, if I'm not mistaken. I remember enjoying the pictures!

ReplyDeleteI hope you had an awesome trip. :)
DeleteWonderful photographs!

Thanks, Joyce. :)
DeleteI've traveled to many countries around the globe, but still haven't made it to Europe! It's my dream to go there one day! So glad you've been able to experience it! Have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteAng
PS New follower!
Thanks, Ang! We have a lot of places we want to see in Europe, and a lot outside of it too.
DeleteI loved Rome and the history and food and Vatican when in Rome take a train to Sorrento big contrast and take a boat ride to Capri my favorite place in Italy.....I miss traveling
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go to Capri, it looks absolutely beautiful in pictures.
DeleteWow! My husband visited Rome last year, and really enjoyed it. We're moving to Spain next year, so maybe I'll get my chance to travel over to Italy.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter wants to visit Spain. :)
DeleteI'm laughing because before I read your caption, I was looking at your boots, wondering how you managed to walk around with them! I've had to walk all the time now, and my gorgeous shoes and boots sit there collecting dust! what's a gal to do!!!! Another fun and unbelievable vacation. You have got me thinking I can't wait to go on a nice vacation!
ReplyDeleteThose boots were as comfy as any sneaker. I was so sad to see them go, lol. If you're going to lose a heel though, it might as well be in Rome, yes? :)
DeleteTraveling makes me happy. I'd do it way more often if I could.
Oh, to be able to travel! I was in Canada once (for 4 hours) about 40 years ago - Niagra Falls in FEBRUARY - the Falls were just about frozen and so was I. That was my "trip abroad"! Even missing the boot heel - you look great - I envy you!
ReplyDeleteWe'd love to go to Canada, there seems to be so many places there that would be wonderful to visit!
Deletewow, looks wonderful! I am now even more inspired to go than I already was! thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice, I'd love to go back. :)
DeleteI would love to visit Rome. So beautiful. diesel_had_my_baby@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteIt really is so pretty. I loved everything about it. :)
DeleteThat was a nice posting on Rome. The photos were cool!
ReplyDeleteItaly has so many wonderful places to see. I would love to return.
DeleteI would love to go there / amazing pictures !!
ReplyDeleteI would love to go back. It's been a long time now. :)
DeleteBummer about the boots! This sounds like an amazing adventure. Someday I will make it over there. I have never been out of North America.
ReplyDeleteAh, but you've been to California, and I have yet to go!! I'm crossing my fingers we'll get out there this summer.
DeleteAny serious walking should be done in sneakers! I'm sure the trip was worth losing your heel to your boots-were you able to get them repaired?
ReplyDeleteI did not have them repaired. If I had been home I would have, but I just let them go. And you are so right about sneakers. I always take a pair now, just in case.
Deletewow I'm so jealous of your traveling next time please take me with you.
ReplyDeleteI bring kids... lots of them, hahaha, you might want to reconsider. ;)
DeleteWow,amazing pictures. I agree with Becca can you take me too? I have never left the US but would love to hopefully one day.
ReplyDeleteTraveling is one of my favorite things to do. I wish we got to do it more. :)
DeleteBeautiful pictures! I have never been to Rome, but thanks for the tip about the sneakers!
ReplyDeleteA lesson well learned for me, for sure. :)
DeleteGreat pics! You do the last one proud!
ReplyDeleteGoing through travel pictures always makes me want to travel. ;)
DeleteAmazing pictures! I've always wanted to visit Rome. It looks magnificent! I'll also remember to pack sneakers or flats. :)
ReplyDeleteThere are so many places in Italy still that I want to see.
DeleteThose images are amazing! Yes, next time pack tennis shoes.
ReplyDeleteLesson learned. ;) My thing is I hate packing big and shoes take up so much room, but better safe than sorry. :)
DeleteThanks Sue, and thanks for the visit. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, how lovely! I want to go! Closest I've ever been is in London...which is not very close LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's close on a flight. And the flights are inexpensive over there too. :)
DeleteHow AMAZING! I would love to travel there someday!
ReplyDeleteThen, I hope you go. :)
DeleteGreat pics! They bring back so many memories!!! My family and I go to Sardinia, Italy every summer and often stop in Rome or go south to the Amalfi Coast as a "side" vacation! This was a post (Wordless Wednesday) from last year in Sardinia...you should check it out and make Sardinia your next vacation destination ;-)))

This is on my bucket list. I'd love to visit Rome someday...I love history and Rome looks like it is full of fascinating stories of the past.
ReplyDeleteRoman streets claimed a pair of shoes from me too. My feet hurt so badly from walking that I threw them away back at the hotel. Sneakers definitely are best when sight seeing.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I would love to be able to touch and walk where others have walked in that time, simply amazing.
