Fashion Ain't Just for Girls, Don'tcha' Know?

I remember when fashion for boys was minimal at best, but generally non-existent.  Today that is soooo not true!  And so, on a venture to showcase the great 'boy fashions' out there, my son and I had a little fashion show of our own making, when we went shopping for his school clothes.  He'd outgrown a good deal of his Winter clothing from last year, so we made a whole afternoon of it (shopping).

The first group of clothing was purchased at TJ Maxx, and we got the whole lot of 'em, and some underwear and socks too (2 pkgs. of each!) for UNDER $200.  If you have children who wear size 5 or smaller, TJ Maxx is the place to go.  They sell sets for less than you can get single pieces in most stores, and the kiddos grow so fast at this age that it just makes sense to save when you can.

Then we headed on over to Kohl's which is just across the way, and picked up a few things we still needed.  My favorite score of the day was this suit, and the whole thing (shirt and tie too) was less than $25!

I let my son pick out a toy at the end of the day to celebrate that we were done (yay, no more shopping!), and he chose this ice cream set.

Good choice!  What better way to end a shopping trip than w/ice cream?  Well, by ending it with ice cream that has no calories, of course!

    1. Thanks, Joyce. Getting all of those clothes from TJ Maxx for under two hundred bucks still astounds me. Maybe because I'm used to shopping for the bigger kids when it comes to back to school. :)

      Happy Sunday.

  3. Love that there is so much more choices for boys clothings and that they are reasonable priced. Here there is still quite limited choice for boys in our department stores.

    1. I'm happy with the changes too. I have two (much) older boys, and there weren't near as many options back then. Girls still have it better, as far as choices go, but it's come a long, long way!

  4. CUTE!!!! Our TJMaxx is across the street from Kohl's too. :)
My sons are teens now and there's a lot to teen guy fashion as well, thus, a clothing allowance for the year! They need to learn how to budget those fancy tag tastes!

    1. TJ Maxx is good for young men, you're right. My 19-yr old always wanted to go there first when he was in high school because he got more 'label money' for the dollar. ;)

    1. Thanks, Pamela. I like the affordability too, and he has a cousin a year younger than him, so we give his clothes to him (when our son outgrows them) and know they get used at least twice. Even better! :)

    1. It's funny when the little ones like to dress up in the suits, isn't it? My son will wear a tie w/a tee-shirt if we'd let him (and sometimes we do! lol).

      Thanks for stopping by. :)
