Death of a Coffee Pot

This may seem silly, but today I am mourning.  I have in fact been mourning for over a week because my Keurig Limited Edition Coffee Brewer, gem that it was, has come to the end of its life.  I loved my brewer.  Those who have one will understand…

I loved it so much that I bought one for my father-in-law for Christmas; one for my son and daughter-in-law for their birthdays (which fall one day apart); one for my husband’s best friend and his wife when they got married; and one for my friend-since-7th-grade, just because I knew she’d love it (and she does).  I also have a friend in another state who owns one (and she loves hers too), and we have had lively discussion about our beloved Keurigs and the delicious K-Cups that go with them.  My favorite K-Cup, though I have many, is Green Mountain Nantucket…hands-down THE best cup of coffee I have ever had the pleasure of tasting.  Gloria Jean’s Butter Toffee K-Cup is a close runner up to my favorite, especially when I’m in the mood for a really good flavored coffee.

I did telephone Keurig, whom I know to have great customer service.  See, my Keurig broke once before, and they walked me through the process of fixing it over the phone, and at the time I was delighted!!  This time, the brewer is out of warranty, and the problem is different…it just won’t power on, so there was nothing to be done.  They did offer me a new one at half price, and a year ago I would have jumped on it, but my student loans are about to come due, so living frugally is going to be a must.  That means no new Keurig in my future.  And I’m okay with that… I realize sacrifices have to be made when there is debt to be paid.  But that doesn’t stop my mourning.  As I sit here with my normal cup of coffee, brewed in the automatic drip pot (*shudders*), I realize I’m grateful to have coffee at all…but I sure do still miss my Nantucket K-Cups throughout the day.  Thank goodness I know that this too, shall pass.

In the meantime, many thanks to Keurig:  I loved our time together…

  1. I'm green with envy you even had one--been on my wish list along with a tablet, that was my christmas gift last year--our purse strings are very tight too....fingers crossed for the Keurig for this year =} I must say I always grab a cup at the DOC office to get my K-Cup fix!!! LOL

  2. NOOOOOO, not the coffee. Anything but the coffee! Life must always be full of yummy coffee! Oh how sad, I mourn with you!

  3. This is on my hubby's wish list! They have one where he works and he loves it. Thinking maybe a Christmas gift this year.

  4. My sister works for Green Mountain Coffee, who own Keurig and Van Houtte Coffee Services. I totally agree! Keurigs are the way to go!

  5. HA HA HA You people and your coffee LOL LOL....Well If they quit selling Dr.Pepper I would be mourning right along with ya lol lol lol. Ya know, when I was a little Girl, people used to say it was a sin to drink Coffee LOL LOL LOL. Have no Idea where that ever came from!!! But as I grew older, I would see people drinking coffee and think they were sinning LOL LOL LOL. Now I think everybody I meet sins!!! LOL LOL LOL I wish you knew me, I LOVE to joke ;)
